So I was talking to my local Mazda dealer (actually the same salesman as a certain alumni of mine who posts here ;) ) and they have the car I want comming in on the 2nd allocation that they are more then happy to hold for me if I put a deposit down. I'm all happy. I just have to convince myself yet that I'm not going to be completely screwed in the snow and that I can stand selling my current baby.

He said the 2nd allocation would only be like 2-3 weeks after the 1st shipment (which is 1st week of July)... any truth to that?

anyone find out what financing rate they are offering??

and anyone get insurance quotes yet?? My insurance company doesn't even know the car exists as of now!!

there is a long thread here about insurance - do a search for it. the rates quoted by forum members range wildly. Personally, mine was about $390 for 6 mo as a pleasure car, and about $430 as a work day car. I'm financing through my credit union, not sure what Mazda has going - on in stock cars (existig models) I think they may have 0% going as of last weekends TV commercials at least.
And as for 'on snow' - a real set of snow tires/steel rims is the best way to go if you must drive the RX. If not, a POS car similar to my AWD Subaru XT6 is a good option.

Financing is likely to suck through Mazda. Currently, the lowest they've got is a 2.5%APR on the I4 6 (or a rate close to that). You're going to be better off going with a bank or credit union than Mazda.
