To those who attended last year's big rotary meet in Ottawa (in May)
Now that I've finally upgraded my PC to something that Adobe Premiere doesn't turn its nose up at, I'm putting together the video from the meet.
And I'm running into a bit of a headache - covering up license plates. It's dead easy to do in still photographs (many of which are going into the video) but it's turning out to be a huge PITA to do it in video...
So I would like to know if anyone out there has an issue with their plate being visible within the video? Now, there's nothing illegal happening in it, other than speeding, and you can't even tell that from looking at the footage (knowing that, I decided to yell it out at certain moments during the cruise. :D )
Nonetheless, I doubt it would be very helpful to anyone if on the off-chance somebody's insurance company spotted their car in the crowd. I'm just trying to anticipate problems.
There are two members that I know for certain are in the video (speaking of which, has anybody talked to Thrax - I was hoping to get his permission to use some of his photographs.)
So, who wants to be famous?

It is yearly.
It's informal (no organizing body/group, just enthusiasts.)
No website.
No firm numbers, but I think it's safe to say that it's in the neighbourhood of 50+ cars. Attendance has been growing each year. This year will be the 4th, IIRC.

While it was a rotary meet, nobody was mean enough to close the door on anyone else who wanted to come.
That, and we didn't have control of the parking lot - it was still public parking.

The place will be the Kanata Recreational Complex (on Ron Maslin Road.) Kanata is a sleeper community just west of Ottawa on the 417.
The meet will be mid-May, falling on a weekend (Show & Shine Saturday afternoon, the cruise happening bright-and-early Sunday morning.) A more specific date probably won't be announced until April. You can expect a new thread here when that's all decided.
Speaking of the cruise, here is a video segment I completed just this afternoon. It is from the beginning of the cruise, when everyone is loading onto a Ferry to cross the Ottawa River. The cruise itself is actually in Quebec.

The file is 16MB and encoded in MPEG1. It should play back for everyone on Windows Media Player without difficulty. Hopefully, the final video will offer a bit better resolution - this was done quickly so I could share it.
