You can buy a 6-rotor engine from RPI. It weighs more than a RX-8.

AAAHHHH look at the baby rotor. It is sooo cute. That little one must be for small apps. The one he is working on is the regular car rotor. What the hell is that big ass rotor for????

yeah, i think that was the idea... some kind of major huge marine application... Fritz knew.

anyhoo, i think the smallest one there is the regular size... Mazda 13B/RENESIS rotors are only 80mm across (3.1 inches)...

edit: wait, none of those really seem the right size, or Mazda rotors at all... anyways, RENESIS rotors are tiny.

I am in the process of building a rotary engine display for my Garage. I have allready purchased 13B rotors and houseing. The rotor the guy is handleing looks about the size of the rotors I have.

This picture was from Curtiss-Wright motors, whose license for the rotary engine got sold to John Deere and then to RPI. So those big RPI motors are actually descendents of those rotors in the picture ;)

Looking at an engine list (http://www.monito.com/wankel/engines.html) from WRCE, I can see some candidates for the rotors displayed above.

Eng. Yrs Application cc x rotors Comp BHP/rpm, Torq(lb-ft/rpm)

-------<snip>-------
RC4-60 60 1st multi-rotor 980 x 4 = 3920 425/6500 400/4000
RC1-1920 60 Monster! 31500 x 1 =31500 782/1525
RC1-4.3 61 air-cooled 70.5 x 1 = 71 3.5/4000 bhp
RC2-8.6 61 H20 cool 141 x 2 = 282 50/12000
-------<snip>-------

My best guess would be these rotors displaced 141cc, 0.98L, and 31.5L each.

hahaha i'll take the 31L rotor and put it on my protege. Ill have the only 4000lbs protege on the block with 1525ft-lbs of torque. I think the engine would be about what....5-6ft high.

You are correct. I am starting a new Religion. I will allow converts from the pistonhead. When I finish the shrine I will post pics. I plan on haveing the parts chromed later this week and I still have to engineer a mount for the eletric motor that will spin the E-shaft thus spining the rotors. I should be done in a few weeks.
