Hello all, I am going to be participating in protype testing and fabrication for the RX8. I am curious to see what kinds of ideas and products you want to see made first. I know exhaust and suspension and all the normal stuff, but what else? Body kits? Custom parts? Let me know if there is anything you fellow RX-8er's want. I have a lot of connections in Japan and will be willing to import parts and supply NEW JDM parts for everyone.

fender strakes(the ones from mazda seem a bit over priced)

I'll also throw my vote in for the lip spoiler provided it's CHEAP and paint matched. It really shouldn't cost more than $100 or so, maybe $150 with the paint intact. There should be 3M tape and no screwing required into the car.

Oh, and a biggie for me... clear sidemarkers. That's my one luxury item :)

I guess i would also like to see lip spoiler and fender for the rx-8, but i would also like to see a new body kit for the rx-8.

Cuz i was planning on gettin a body kits and rim before modifying anything else for my car.

i second the votes for the cheap strakes and CLEAR SIDE MARKERS!!

I would be interested in a set of 'strakes' and if they are not OEM, why not make them just a touch larger? I find the Mazda ones a bit conservative......
Obviously, looking for a 'chip' setup to maximize power.....
Fo' sho' the clear sidemarkers.......
Probably could make room in the budget for the rotor start button, if it came in at less than the $170+ Mazda bits.....
That's my wishlist!

Well my friend leaves for Japan on Friday I will have him pic up some samples and bring them back and see if we can make them more afforadable. As you all know the car has already hit the streets in Japan so parts should be more avaliable. Keep the ideas comming!

Zoom49 are you sure about that related thing? i do have family in Cali:) and i think StealthTL got it right! i had the same thought last night, a little longer on the strakes would be a good thing!

oh and i want the clamshell hood like they had on the evolve but it should look like the normal front end with the same light cutouts and everything

Well I can tell you I will be fabing a turbo kit right now but no plans for the supercharger yet. As far as the mirriors what do you guys think of the mazda speed mirriors? I have pics of Tokyo Auto Salon form earlier this year where can I post them if you guys are interested? I have like 40 pics of the cars that were there.

hmmm... turbo kit huh...? how about ECU, IC, manifold, ect... will it all be included?? pricey i would guess??

The MS mirrors are very nice... but i dont think it would look balanced without the whole kit or a body kit!?! how about the original mirror wiv the fabricated turn signals?? that one is nice as well...

Try 2 check if the door can be modified like the one on the McLaren f1...

Can you also check if there's a m3 aero mirror 4 dis car and another kind of fender...

...the original fender is nice, but i would like 2 see sumthin more designated with some of the upcomin body kits...

...one more thing...check if you can modified the gauges and the dash board...thx! :D

I would like to see a retractable two plane spoiler like the Porsche 996 Turbo. Something like a lip spoiler that rises to increase down force at higher speeds. When down it would give the car a more sleeper-like look, but when raised look and function like a sports car.

And although a stock RX-8 might not need it, I'm a big fan of hoods with RAISED slotted functional air vents. Looks cool as hell. So maybe you could provide a kit to mod a stock engine hood. Best reference I can give you is my 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. More seamless the better.

sorry, just found this thead (been a little preoccupied at work) ...

I’d really like to see a complete fully functional gage display pack that clearly and accurately shows the normal and abnormal state of things with regards to: engine temperature, voltage/battery (and there's room right now for a voltage/battery gage that will fit tastefully in the dash by the oil temp gage ...and as of now it's IMHO sorely missing) and oil pressure with an analog speedometer (or some kind of digital indicator that replaces the swing of the needle- maybe some kind of horizontal bar graph underor above the digital speedometer readout screen or else a digital light ring around the edge of the tach gage)!

im really feelin this lip under the mazdaspeed kit... i would love to see something like that for the stock aero kit... and a spoiler raiser wouldnt be bad either... if your serious about the (twin?) turbo kit keep it updated...

oh and color matched painted eye lids would be nice too...

hmm... I'd like to see cheaper versions of the MS wing ($1k is just flat out rediculous), and replicas of the front/rear polished rotors, strakes, exhaust finishers ($200 !?!), and the rotary center hub caps ($130!?!)
