It's official (http://www.trektoday.com/news/020205_04.shtml). That's a shame too, it was finally starting to get its sea (space?) legs. :(

View Full Version : Star Trek Enterprise has been cancelled MadRonin 02-03-2005, 08:16 AM It's official (http://www.trektoday.com/news/020205_04.shtml). That's a shame too, it was finally starting to get its sea (space?) legs. :( Magic8 02-03-2005, 08:54 AM I'm sorry but that show wasn't that good. Battlestar Galatica is my new scifi addiction :) MadRonin 02-03-2005, 09:05 AM I disagree. It may not be the best show on TV (That would be Lost), but it certainly was entertaining. The first couple of seasons were decent enough, and the third season was really good. This season is the best one yet, finally making it seem like a Star Trek show. Battlestar Galactica is my new scif-fi obsession. One of the top four shows on TV right now. :) BlueEyes 02-03-2005, 09:06 AM I don't think I have ever seen it, did it have the guy who played Hercules as the captain?? MadRonin 02-03-2005, 09:21 AM I don't think I have ever seen it, did it have the guy who played Hercules as the captain?? No, that was Andromeda with Kevin Sorbo. Enterprise stars Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame, and Jolene Blalock of hottie fame. ;) expo1 02-03-2005, 09:22 AM Love that show, where am I going to get my Jolene Blalock fix?? Based on the way TV is these days its replacement will be CSI Vulcan MadRonin 02-03-2005, 09:24 AM Love that show, where am I going to get my Jolene Blalock fix?? Based on the way TV is these days its replacement will be CSI Vulcan If it's got Jolene Blalock on it, I'll probably watch it. :D ÜberJumper 02-03-2005, 10:05 AM They should bring Jolene Blalock into Battlestar Galactica as a Hottie Cylon. There's already 2 hottie Cylons, so there's room for more. Zaku-8 02-03-2005, 10:27 AM I'm pretty sure the ratings for BSG are what eventually caused Paramount to cancel enterprise. It seemed like they were trying too... the storylines didnt seem very novel. MadRonin 02-03-2005, 10:55 AM I'm pretty sure the ratings for BSG are what eventually caused Paramount to cancel enterprise. It seemed like they were trying too... the storylines didnt seem very novel. While I will miss Enterprise, I still think BSG is a far better show. The storylines are very well done with multi-dimensional characters and good dialogue. Plus the effects are done by the same guys that did the effects for the short lived, but totally kickass show, Firefly. klegg 02-03-2005, 12:10 PM Yup. BG is a better show....and the friday timeslot for enterprise was the kiss of death. A classic example of screwing up a franchase...hell, voyager was better for the ST puriest. By the way, yup the blonde cylon is hot, but does anyone else think starbuck has got to be first class in bed? She works for me, in a "I can go all night like animal" kind of way. MadRonin 02-03-2005, 12:22 PM Yup. BG is a better show....and the friday timeslot for enterprise was the kiss of death. By the way, yup the blonde cylon is hot, but does anyone else think starbuck has got to be first class in bed? She works for me, in a "I can go all night like animal" kind of way. I think Katee Sackoff (Starbuck) is a smokin' hottie. Something about an attractive woman that flies planes, shoots guns, and can kick my ass. Kinda like Angelina Jolie in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. :D G-ReX 02-03-2005, 12:25 PM That's a disappointment, but the show has been really inconsistant. To let Jolene Blaylock's vehicle go away may be prosecutable! BSG's pilot blew me away. Waaay better than I'd hoped for. Really well cast and holding up with good follow-up stories and ongoing sub-plots. Brings back the enthusiasm I had for Babylon 5 when it came out. ÜberJumper 02-03-2005, 12:34 PM Boomer's my fav... damn Grace Park is a hottie. And there's more than one of her! Holy dream threesomes batman! JoeMamma 02-03-2005, 12:43 PM I'm also hooked on BSG...and the whole SciFi Friday lineup. Katee Sackhoff is a real find...she pulls off a very believable "butch" Viper pilot, but still has definite sex appeal. :p MadRonin 02-03-2005, 12:45 PM Boomer's my fav... damn Grace Park is a hottie. And there's more than one of her! Holy dream threesomes batman! I remember reading somewhere that Grace Park and Linda Park (Hoshi on ST:Enterprise) are sisters. Maybe Linda can come over to BSG and they can turn her into a multi-clone Cylon, too. :D Labop 02-03-2005, 03:00 PM was never crazy about ST: Enterprise, just wanted to say, that both Jolene Blalock and Linda Park were the only reason's I watched the show. I thought it was neat showing the beginning, but they went off the deep end a bit with their plots. Sorry, couldn't buy into it, and I'm a long time Trekkie. On BSG, kind of weirded out by starbuck being a chick, but damn is she hot. I know I've seen her in other things. Just not sure what, hrmm, time to do a filmography search. Better wait until I'm home in case the photos are not "work safe" hehe :D Who is that other chick, the Blond Cylon? What's the deal, she shows up in one guy's head? I think she shows up in mine too..... Between those three and Amanda Tapping..., damn. BTW, missed the entire first season of BSG because I was deployed overseas. Damned SciFi channel reruns everything except BSG ad naseum. I had to fill in the gaps with my memories of the old BSG. Labop 02-03-2005, 04:01 PM Just found her name, Tricia Helfer http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0407362/Ss/0407362/BSG04_014FORF_LowRes.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Helfer,%20Tricia her hottness knows no bounds..., or something klegg 02-03-2005, 04:22 PM You know, I find her birthmarks soooo hot! (Starbuck I mean.) By the way, it is looking good for another season. And how about the guy who plays adama...the guy is born for the role. B/T/W, I think that baltar is a cylon....a sleeper agent and just does not know it. That is why she is in his head. ÜberJumper 02-03-2005, 04:51 PM Labop: Dude, the first year is running now. It's only had 3 episodes air in the US/Canada. The UK's got the entire first series on the air already, as skye tv helped pay for its production, they get an exclusive to run it ahead of the states. You're seeing a first run now! There was a Mini-series of BSG last year, a 3 hour opening movie basically. You can buy it on DVD. G-ReX 02-03-2005, 05:06 PM was never crazy about ST: Enterprise, just wanted to say, that both Jolene Blalock and Linda Park were the only reason's I watched the show. Damned SciFi channel reruns everything except BSG ad naseum. I had to fill in the gaps with my memories of the old BSG.I've been watching Enterprise mostly out of loyalty and deperation, hoping it would turn the corner. Oh, well. Find the BSG 2 part pilot movie, if you can! It's really well done and intense. I'm amazed someone took the hokey old BSG series and thought they could resurrect it into a real sci-fi show - and pulled it off. drupnoy1 02-03-2005, 05:12 PM Star Trek Deep Space Nine was the best series in the Star Trek universe. To most trekkies, Enterprise was very dissappointing. I'm not a trekkie at all, but Enterprise didn't have the things that I liked in DS9. Anyways, I hope they have a new series coming out for Star Trek, if not, i'll be watching Battlestar Galactica. Magic8 02-03-2005, 05:28 PM B/T/W, I think that baltar is a cylon....a sleeper agent and just does not know it. That is why she is in his head. Good call! I'm still wondering why the cylons will do with the pilot on Caprica. The detail BSG is incredible they even made the space combat realisitic. Flip backwards and shot while maintaining forward momentum....cool! zoom44 02-03-2005, 05:34 PM Good call! I'm still wondering why the cylons will do with the pilot on Caprica. i think they are just using him and the boomer cylon to find and capture/kill the humans left behind on caprica. i bet they are doing the same thing on the other planets as well. Labop 02-03-2005, 05:36 PM First off, DS9 wasn't bad, much better than the shows that came later on, but ST:TNG was the best. OK, then. I still missed a great deal of character development with the miniseries..., I kind of considered that the first season, but whatever. The pilot on Caprica is probably being treated as a guinea pig, seeing how he reacts to certain conditions..., hell, they might even consider him a pet. bad human, you soiled the carpet. Japan8 02-03-2005, 08:55 PM Yup. Problems with tv people today... There is room for more than 1 show. Even if BG is "better" that doesn't mean there aren't a "significant" number of viewers of Enterprise, particularly if the timeslot was changed (was that even attempted??!!). Changing it's timeslot should have been obvious. Voyager?! Are you kidding me? I never really liked that show... nor the majority of the characters. Total Zzzz. DS9... it was not "typical" Star Trek, but the stories and characters were quite good. We get ST Enterprise here (at last)... we don't get BG. I doubt BG will come. CSi came recently, but I don't particularly like it. Considering I don't like just anything that's Sci-Fi (I hated several popular sci-fi fan shows like Bablyon 5) there is a good chance I won't like BG either. What a loss... klegg 02-04-2005, 11:05 AM My god, B5 was great!!!! I own it on DVD (farscape is next) I have heard that rick berman's contract could be up now, something about nothing trek related in production. It seems that he is the problem with the shows......when he is involved, they suck, when he is not, they are good. I thought DS9 was the best of the "new" shows, great cast, good writing and klingons! On the other hand, I will mis the andoreans.....those antenna ruled, and they were sooo paranoid. |
