At the end of a recent Car and Driver comparo between the Enzo, Saleen S7, Lambo Murcielago, and Ford GT40 its says,

"A total of 4500 car will be hand-built by selected UAW employees at Ford's plant in Wixom, Michigan. (This is referring to the GT40 of course) the production will end -- due to the start of new crash regulations -- by Sept. 2006"

What the hell are these new regulations and how do they affect the rx-8?

im sure it has to do with the heights of the bumpers on the GT40 scraping the ground. Possible also the GT40 has no crumple zones or any other crash requirements safety equiptment. Have you seen the new ferrari Enzo??? That thing literally only has about 3 inches of bumper only about 4 inches off the ground. It's a beast but damn!

I love the way it looks from the side with the firemen blowing the hose over it, anyone with anymore info i dont want the rx-8 looking like a bus, in order to not chop people from their legs onto the hood of the car.
