I saw a red 8 blow by me on the far center lane just before the 408 exit.

I believe it probably was you. I was in the center lane in my black 8 and you flew by me, I caught up later when traffic slowed a little but was unable to get close enough
to give a salute. :p I travel that route almost every day so I'm sure our paths will cross again.

Sounds like you've put a lot of thought and research into this phenomenon.

I spotted a navy blue 8 sitting in the parking lot by my bank. After going through the drive-up I drove by again to get a closer look. A young dark haired girl was sitting in it ready to leave. Never seen that color before. NOT winning blue but a much darker navy blue color.Had to be re- painted that color. I don't think Mazda has introduced any new colors for the '05 other than the white. Maybe I'm wrong

race rock's not too bad of a location of i-drive. it's only like a mile off 528, and it's toll-free to get off at exit 1 coming from I4. race rock is just more of a social kinda place than waterford is. if we were expecting a massive (+100) turnout, then we'd need a bigger place and WFL would be great. they have car shows there often, but theyre biiiig shows.

OK so who was it in the black 8 around 5:30 on 436 turning onto 50 west? I was two cars in front of you in the next lane going straight on 436. I was gonna holla at ya! but you turned.

Na it wasn't you. This one was behind me and I was headed south on 436. Could be rx8wannahave, I think his is black also. You can always tell my 8 from others. All the emblems are gold and I've got Polak's custom gold rx8club decals in the rear windows. I'm usually in that area between 5:15 & 5:30 heading home from work. If I see ya I'll give you a "yeehaw" out the window!

Haha, sounds good - I'm usually pretty good at spotting other 8s, but I'm apparently prone to having some pretty solid lapses (my friend spotted two on me today that I completely missed), so forgive me if I sit there like a lobotomy patient while you wave your arms around and yell. Just saw another black 8 at UCF heading into the parking garage over by Communications at around 3:30, wasn't in my car so I couldn't get their attention...haven't seen them around before...

Even more remarkable was the Shinka I saw heading East on Colonial around Bithlow at about 5. At first I thought it was just another black 8, but when the sun hit it there was definitely that purply-brown color. I was riding with my friend at that point, so I didn't even try to get their attention. I kind of like the Shinka - it's really hard to spot that color unless you're really on top of it and I love the tan interior, I wish I could have gotten it on my car.

Hey guys, do any of you know if the lease agreement for our cars allows for tinting without being charged when you turn the car back in? I'm pretty sure Mazda won't charge for aftermarket tint, but I know that BMW will, so I just want to be safe here. Thanks!

I depends on your lease my last car was a Miata and it was through Mazda Credit and therw is no fee for tint, we have also had BMW's and I have never heard of a fiance company charging you for tint. My 8 is through Huntington and there is no penalty for tint, or the oil screens, or the ac condensor screen, or the aftermarket exhaust.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting any sort of a problem, but I remember reading on BMWs website that if you got the $299/mo deal they were running on the 325s, they would knock you for aftermarket tint as excessive wear/damage. Just wanted to be safe and check up before I made an appointment to get my car tinted over spring break here.

Most leases require that the addons add value to the vehicle, don't interfere with mandatory safety or emissions and are permanent high quality products. You might want to call the leasing company and ask specifically about tint. My company's fleet cars are through GE Capital and they STRICTLY and EXPLICITLY forbid tint. If a driver adds tint, they will have to remove it before turning the car in. (and it better not cause any damage in the process)

There's usually TONS of space out in BFE by both Best Buy and Target. Either of those would probably be an easy place to meet up. I think there's lots of space down by that gym in the corner as well. Pretty much anywhere with lots of open space would probably be pretty easy to gather everyone together.

Depends where the meet's at. The only one I've been to was at Orlando Speedworld, and we pretty much just stood around and talked about our cars and got to know one another then went and made some runs. It was pretty fun.

I think for this one we'll probably meet up in the parking lot and get to know one another and talk about/look at everyone's cars, maybe grab some dinner if anyone is interested. I'm sure at least a couple people will be considering the time and proximity to some decent restaurants. (I'm up for it) Seems like we've got a pretty good prospective turnout, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing their cars! :cool: See you guys there

His was this one, it was the only one that was blown. He drove the president of firestone racing around. I love driving that car he has everything done and he left it looking stock so it is a sleeper.

His car was parked there only on sunday and you needed a paddock pass to get there. They were parked all in a row behind the honda ridgelines right behind the start finish line.

I remember those days.. I am very glad they are over! Did you have general admission tickets or grandstand. We had grandstand section 6 row 12 seats 3 & 4. Also I got sunburnt something fierce that day. But I got a cool Indy car hat. :rolleyes:

Well, I'm not terribly strapped for cash, but springing for 3 days of grandstand tickets made spending any more money than was absolutely necessary a bit hard to swallow that weekend. We were in section 2, row 15, seats 15 and 16. Good seats, but we had some jackasses sitting down one level from us who kept trying to dictate where everyone was supposed to be sitting (and they were always wrong, they were just trying to get better seats for themselves). My friend and I both managed to avoid too much sunburn by applying what was probably dangerous amounts of sunscreen. I kept forgetting my ears though, so wearing sunglasses is a bit of a dreaded task right now since the ears are all crispy. :(

Thats funny on my left were 2 guys comparing everything to nascar, and on the other side was a long beard and tattoos and he left after 2 minutes saying those races were crap compared to nascar! I have been to both types of races and I much perfer the indy cars, they do however need to have more consession stands. Everywhere we went they either were sold out or had no change for a 20. Our seats were just to the right of the 711 car. Also my ears got might crispy! My avatar is what I looked like after the races.

Agh, I have no real problem with Nascar (well, I don't much care for it, but I can understand its appeal) but I just can't imagine those races being more entertaining than the Indy races. I guess it's just my style. The concessions there were nuts - the prices were absolutely outrageous. I guess I should have expected that, but I wasn't expecting everything to be 3x what it would cost on the outside. I think I spent more on drinks in the two days than I normally do in a whole week.

We were right behind the Vision car and there was a group of about 5 drunk college guys right by us who were laughing their asses off at their performance and making fun of the team. I almost felt bad for them, but I have to admit that it was pretty funny to see the whole pack go by and then see Foyt and the Vision car come rolling around about 20 seconds later. :D

Well it's been raining for the last couple days, so I think my car deserves a wash. I'm a lil tired so I don't think she'll get my regular 3 hour detail. ;)

I'm about to wash my 8 now...I'll vacume the inside and dust it too...

I don't know if I'll be able to stay long but I'll bring my digi cam to take some pictures of the RX8's.

Yeah same here. Had some friends from out of town call to say they'll be coming
by for a visit,but still hope to meet everyone and see their 8's :)

Aye, I also had a really good time meeting everyone and look forward to doing it again soon. Hopefully I'll get rid of my waterspots and have some clear corners by then! :p I'll have pics as soon as I muster up the motivation to get my camera out of my car. (which will probably happen tomorrow at this point)

We definately should do this again. The turnout was better than I thougt it would be.

You must be late some mornings. I'm not often out that early. Usually closer to 7:45. But I'll keep an eye out and try to wave.

BTW -- I dropped my wife off at the sewing store before I came over to meet with everyone. Apparently, she dropped her wallet when she got out of the car. While she was in the store, she got a page and someone had turned it in... Just another part of a nice night.

Black w/ Touring package near kissimmee, I commute to UCF so you can spot me on 417 or 408 in the morning or at night. I see white RX-8 and silver RX-8 around my house regularly (maybe it's one of you guys). Haven'ts seen that many in UCF. I usually park at rec center garage at UCF .. usually surrounded by couple of 350Zs.

lol i used to park there all the time since I could always grab an end spot that early in the morning. parking going to suck for the next year though, they're closing the education lot and all those cars gotta park somewhere :(

off the top of my head there's a black GT (rhawb) and a blue GT (strong bad) at UCF. theres another black 8 that lives at pegasus pointe and a handful of others who i don't really know (read: spoiled sorority girls, aka automatics). you probably wont see me much, since i don't drive my car to school anymore, but if you see a gray mazda truck waiving at you like a fool, it's yours truly :D

Oh, and I live in the Education garage as well, but I take the backroad over by the gym into campus (Discovery, I think) so you'll probably see me driving around the ring some day.
