Glad it wasn't out when I bought mine otherwise I would have had a real hard time deciding... I bet I would still be there standing on the lot comparing the two (V-Red vs. White)...

Very nice... White was defnitely my second choice of color. Looks absolutely incredible on this car (but then again, what doesn't). :)

When I was looking for a "practical car", I made the mistake of test driving the RX-8...damn saleslady. Anyway, I made a bid on a vandalized (but being repaired) 05 Evo-8 (white). They made me a reasonable offer, but I told them I would have to sleep on it. I could not get the RX out of my mind, but knew I would have to get the whitewater pearl...nothing else would do. So, I called the Mitsu dealer and said "Thanks, but no thanks", and went down to the Mazda dealer. The closest white RX was two states away, but they made me a good deal, and had the car shipped to them. When I got the call from the dealer (three days early!!), I found my car sitting in the lot (backed in) and four people were pressing their noses against it. Beth (my saleslady) said "I'm so sorry. We've been trying to 'shoo' people away from your car since we pulled it out front. I had one guy offer $1000 over sticker to sell it to him today!".

I have had some nice looking cars in my day, but nothing has quite turned heads like this car. Even "seasoned citizens" rubber-neck and give it the twice over. I've had middle-aged WOMEN almost wreck because they were paying too much attention to it.

I really couldn't be happier with this car. I know that living in Colorado, it is certainly not the most practical car, and it isn't the fastest on the road (that may change a bit when the engine is all broken in and the boost gauge mounted...heh), but I haven't regretted my decision a single moment.

lol i don't see how white can be assumed a girl's "color" or a guy's "color" for that matter, its bloody paint for cryin out loud hahaha, BUT if it were pink.... that'd be a different story... but not surprisingly i'd be willing to bet a month's pay that at least ONE guy would buy the pink one (99.9% sure that that guy that did buy it would be in the age range of 16-22) but to each his own :)

My first post. I've been reading the form since I got my White RX-8 December 18, it was my Christmas present from the wife. I have yet to see another one on the road here in Atlanta. I noticed a .pic of a white 8 on the form yesterday. So now that we have an official space, I can not be quite any longer. The 8 looks great in White!

I thought that looked like hawaii. Nice photos, would've gotten white if I had bought an 05 but the deals were on the 04s. Great color just gotta keep that red dirt off of it. :)

White is sick. I haven't seen one on the road yet, but I saw one at the dealership's showroom for the first time today appearance package, red/black interior, decked out. The 3 also looks good in white. They should have called it Illuminatus white.

I love the white RX-8 with the black accents. My interior is
Black/Red. I added the polised aluminum wheels which gives
the car a nice look. (IMO)

Those polished wheels do look really good :D . I just ordered some new rims, should be here in a few months. I'll be sure to post a bunch of pics once I get them ;) .

My '94 FD is white and I was sorry that the '04 RX8 wasn't offered in that color (bought Winning Blue instead). But I stopped at the dealership recently to check out what I thought was s'posed to be a pearlescent white for the '05s, and was kind of disappointed that it seemed to be a mettalic paint essentially like the other colors. Did I miss something?

Nice looking cars. I got one just like it...she's absolutely beautiful. I'm already having nightmares about keeping it clean. I've read Zainos and Mugweyers are the 2 best for cleaning and detailing. Will post pics soon. Just like the others I haven't gotten a chance to drive it much due to bad weather.

The alum rims are nice, where did you get them.

So far my White is stock, with the minor exception of clear corners.

I was debating on two possible appearance mods.. Strakes and Painted Calipers.

I'm not sure if I like the strakes on white.. what are your thoughts?

As for painted Calipers.. I'm mostly want to put something on the actual rotors to prevent/hide the rust that happens.. and figure I might as well paint/protect the calipers as well.. Has anyone done thier calipers? If so what color would look good with White? Thinking either white (Though it'd get dirty fast I'd think), or possiblly a silver/aluminum color to match the wheel itself (Currently stock).

Here's mine. I call him Moonshine (aka white lightning). Mods this weekend: DIY rotary accents, remote radar detector, Sirius satellite radio receiver, shock sensor upgrade, cargo net, back door protectors, padded armrest. Things on order to do next weekend: clear corners, front and rear splash guards, Racing Beat grilles (will get powdercoated in black), OEM spoiler, side strakes. I'll post pictures again once those are installed. :D

Thanks to all the "Calling all xxx" Threads I was able to decide on a color before even seeing on in person!

So.. to return the favor.. here are a few pics of my 8, only mods (if you'd even call them that) are Clear corners, Tint (15% all around) and a home done cooler and air grill protector screen.

Oh yes.. ignore the nice YELLOW brakes :) I just got done washing it and hadn't driven around the block to get all the nice oxidation off just yet.

well all rx8s are the same untill they're heavily modified...

some ppl dont have the gt packagle and rotary accents package..makes a difference..

im talking about rating the car based on "coolness" and such, you need a unique car to be able to judge

oh yeah, car A has a rotary accent pacakge and car b doesnt, this obviously means car a is significantly different and way cooler!!

Well, I finally got some pics to update everyone with...I added the CF MS Wing and CF Hood...both from Carbon Creations...Now just gotta wait for the rims (19inch Racing Sparco D-Spec Stage 2)...

Thanx. Everything has fit perfect, so far. The only thing left that I'm gonna get from them is the MS rear diffuser. I'm also in the process of getting the Urethane MS Sideskirts and front bumper from Extreme Dimensions.

cool keep it clean dude cuz CF on white is tight, i have silver with a CF JDM Odula racing hood, a JDM CF auto bahn sports trunk and a rotary extreme CF wing and rotary extreme CF trimmed MS side skirts with a JDM abflug rear with the CF diffuser and a JDM FEED/Fujita engineering front bumper

hey missy you can go to your mazda dealer and get the fender strakes(the metal things over the vents) and the rotary accents on the front and back right from your mazda dealer. they are OEM mazda accesories.

i got them from ebay. they are actually on front belts. it just says mazda :D

Just got my White yesterday, to tell you the truth i wasn't sold on it till i actually went to the dealer (on a sunny day) to pick it up!!! OMG it's so beautiful, i think better than the blue I originally wanted. Too bad girls just look at it then look inside to see who's driving it while all the guys are gawking. :(

IMO White is the best looking of all the colors. I cant wait to get my RX-8 looking at these pictures makes me so anxious.

I just tinted mine. 20% in back 50% in front. 50% didn't look that dark on the wall of the tint place so it's only a matter of time until I get nabbed for it but until then I think it looks pretty damn good :D

Yes, that is the OEM Mazdaspeed Front..........I bought it from mazdasportparts.com......fitment was perfect.....took me about 30 minutes to install........price was $1630 shipped......

all mazdaspeed body parts will fit 100% perfect, if you need major fitment then there's something wrong

White Water Pearl is the absolute BEST COLOR for this car!!! I bought mine 5 days ago. Grand Touring Model. I need to figure out how to put a pic up. I need to get the clear turn signals with amber bulbs. It makes it look a lot better.. OH! and major props to the guy who took his white rx8 in the fog. That is the best rx8 pic out there!! ROCK ON!

Nice car. The pearl white really is beautifull. I have only seen one where I live (came up right behind me with a blonde driving). I couldn't stop looking at the car (ahem). She didn't even acknowledge me :(

yes.. definitely get those clear corners.. (and remeber to rip out that metal reflector from inside, search the threads.. ull get a better picture of what to do).. and give the car a nice wet-tire treament :)

Any recommendations for a good long-lasting treatment? Everything I use wears off after a day of driving (like in this picture).

I've heard a lot of good things about Meguiar’s endurance tire cleaner. It should last a pretty long time.

^^ Thats the stuff I use. Its more of a satin finish then the super high gloss wet look. It does last pretty long, even through multiple washings.

i use wet black.. something like that (dont have the bottle by me).. it lasts pretty long.. wutever u get, make sure its anti-sling.. u dont want black shit on ur car the second u strat driving..

I don't think it would. Remember that white prototype MS mazda had? The new kit looked like shit compared to ours, but it still looked badass with those rims. I wanna see a full MS kit with white rims. It would look CLEAN. Of course you'd have to put up with cleaning the wheels alot. But I would do it if mine was white.

i have no idea where to get the key...haha. i found this icon on google images because it looked kool and i actually know someone that has this key, but i lost contact with him. he told me that he had to order the key from japan and it isnt made by mazda. i think youll need to do some research on it to find out..sorry for not being able to help.

In his defense, he is from New Zealand, where it is quite possible that the car was sold as an 03 model. Even though 05 was the first year that the states got the white color, it has been around elsewhere since the launch of the rx8. If you look closer at the pic of his car, it is right hand drive further proving it is not a us model. Im pretty sure he knows the year and spec of his rx8.

Its a japanese import model to NZ, it IS an 03 model and yes the steering wheel is on the correct side of the car (right). Cheers for the post dude.

Regarding cars in general. New Zealand has a LOT of Japan spec cars imported in. This means we see a LOT of models US drivers never see at all. For instance my batty is a 4 seater and not many US guys believed that to start with either. Furthermore it was actually assembled and first registered Japan in 1992....but I get sooo many US owners telling me there is no such thing as a '92 batty that I just call it a '93 to make life easier.

How did you install your XM?

Originally I installed it myself. It was fairly easy. However, I had wires all over including power from the cig lighter.The wireless FM transmitter from the Roady sounded horribable. So I went to a stereo place in Santa Ana and purchased a FM Modulator and had it hardwired. I'm still not 100% happy with the sound and they installed the roady on a odd angle in my ashtray. I went to another stereo shop where they installed my spoiler and for 30 bucks they cleaned it up and drew power from another source. Although the did not tell me where. If anyone has a better suggestion to get the most from the Bose system using XM. Please let me know.

To avoid all of the wires, it is powered by splicing into the cig lighter(from behind). I bought the FM modulator kit from best buy and everything was included. There are several DIY's on taking the center console and what not apart.

This pic is 2 months old, I've since matched the hood with a MS style Carbon Fibre Wing. Hope You like.....

I went CF to distinguish mine from the 45 year old woman who bought the other white one in town. She went with an auto too. My favorite mod is the Lip kit.

I want wheels next. Wife wants bling (chrome). I've come to like something dark like black or gunmetal with a polished lip. We'll see...

I don't think it would. Remember that white prototype MS mazda had? The new kit looked like shit compared to ours, but it still looked badass with those rims. I wanna see a full MS kit with white rims. It would look CLEAN. Of course you'd have to put up with cleaning the wheels alot. But I would do it if mine was white.

ya thats really simular, there is some minor differences though, such as theres a missing ridge near the rim and theres no small holes in between the lugnut holes and the lugnut holes dont stretch over the inner dish as much, maybe just another version of the P1

I love the white RX-8 with the black accents. My interior is
Black/Red. I added the polised aluminum wheels which gives
the car a nice look. (IMO)

I have an RX-8 on order and it'll pretty much look like yours except for the wheels.

Where did you get your polished aluminum wheels from? Did you order it that way or buy them after market? If so, where?

Or, is your car a Shinka edition? I heard the Shinkas come with a polished look.

this is a beautiful rim. i am wondering we dont see too many 8 owners slap on one.

While we're on the topic of rims, what do you guys think of maybe darkening the stock rims. Not like powdercoating them white but just a greyish, much like the charcoal mazdaspeed ones. Before I washed my car last week, the rims were pretty dirty and I thought it would look pretty good. All of this on a white 8 of course :)

I have a JDM RX8 with that key. Came from Japan. I am in Bangladesh and all rx8's here are from JDM grey market imports. I didnt know different markets don have that key.

That looks VERY cheesy. They take a $28K+ car down to the level of a riced out Civic in my opinion. At least get the Mazdaspeed replacement CF pieces and not those nasty stickers. It is WAY too much...to many stickers in too many places throughout the car.

No offense to you SnowFl8k. If you like them that is cool. Just my personal opinion of course.

not my cup of tea, i dont really like any kind of CF other than regular CF weave, not bashing you, ive seen $150,000+ sl55's come with silver CF FROM THE FACTORY doesnt look honda ricey in my opinion, it just doesnt appeal to me and its reflective for my eyes. but everybody has their own tastes in aesthetics and don't let other peoples opinions change yours.

Well I did it guys, after two years of waiting, I just bought a brand new white rx-8 yesterday. I will edit my post later to include some pictures and specs.

Picked up my car May 17, it's a 2005 Touring with the appearance package. I consider this the "before" picture. Glad I took some pictures of it before any mods to come.

Oh and I touched up the photo a bit - I'd appreciate any feedback on what photoshop junkies do to make cars look a bit better in pictures.

I've had mine since August of '05, but no appearance package. My buddy club front bumper and side skirts just arrived so when I get those installed and painted I'll post picks.

when I first got my Sunlight Silver I went through all the color threads and never really like the white to much.

That is till I saw one today on the road, first white one in a year.

Looks increible againts the landscape and on the road.

Plus I hear they don't have the Silver curse ... :scared:

I just think German sports cars should be yellow (911), Italian sports cars should be red (Ferarri), Japanese sports cars should be white (RX8), and American sports cars should be black (Corvette).
Maybe it's cliche but to me it's just a natural choice to go with a white 8.

I am so jealous looking at all these beatiful cars... I went car looking at the mazda dealership near me today. They had 3 whitewater pearls left and a silver. They were auto which is what I would get because this will be my first car. No idea when I might get one. I only have my permit. But I will wait in envy till I can get one!

Are those 18x9.5 all around?

I took a few pics of my '05 that I got in May. Here are a couple of the shots.

my rx8. I'm interested in attaching front, side and rear skirt(?). I don't know exact name. And I'm gonna attach fender strakes. But I'm wondering which is better between after market and mazda. I already attached mazdaspeed rear spoiler and muffler. the problem was price. so expensive.
If you guys know about buying some accessaries in good way, let me know~ ^^

Hey guys! i am new to this site and i just got my White Rx-8 last week. I am glad that i found this thread about calling all White's.

i am noticing all the white 8's with clear side markers. i have been pondering getting some myself. could someone tell me how difficult they are to install?

clear side markers are the easiest mod to install. you dont even need any tools...just your hands.

theres a diy around here somewhere.
