it seems everyone has gotten their VIN, or at least their dealer HAS the vins, but mine doesnt, im getting worried, could it be that im not in the first allocation?

i had the same concern last week so i e-mailed rx8orders to ask if i had a VIN and when my build date was. they got back to me the very next day with the info.

i don't think info is flowing internally at mazda the way they'd like. judging from the stories on here, the dealerships are the very last folks to know anything.

yeah, you are right, internal coms are QUITE down...

if they ordered late im gunna be soooo aggrevated...... even though i dont THINK that happened because when i went in to preorder, apparently they had already ordered a full inventory of rx-8s to be shipped to their dealer, so i just put my name on one that was coming, so i think its first allocation, i really hope it is...i need my baby.......

There is NO flow of info from plant, to rx8orders to dealers.. it's all smoke and mirrors..

Sorry, if you know me, I'm one pissed Hawaiian at the moment. Mazda says I'm no longer a pre-order and my dealer doesnt know his @$$ from his head at the moment. Both of whom also can't tell me anything about the current status of my supposed vehicle.

ELX: I'm suprised rx8orders even gave you that info.. Do you recall who at rx8orders said that?

Either way I would be SO DAMN ANGRY with them...

they claim to be ignorant of the cutoff date. i was the first one to confirm my order. the other guy who had a deposit(before me) came in a little later and then one of the owners decided to get one and put himself first. they ordered all 3 plus some for themselves at the same time, waiting until feb 21st to do so. he claims it's mazda's fault for giving the impression that pre-order cars were on top of the dealer's allocation and that, he says, was not the case. he (general manager/one of the owner's sons)says he then had to decide how to fit the pre-orders into his allocation. he thought our 3 would have just come as his first allocation but he does not have any "on water" yet. i would even have been one batch later because he was to only get 2 in his first batch but mazda gave him 1 extra.
