John Elway, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Denver Broncos flag in the window.

"This house is yours for eternity, John," said God. "This is very special, not everyone gets a house up here." John felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a three-story mansion with a green and silver sidewalk, a 50-foot tall flagpole with an enormous EAGLES logo flag, and in every window, an Eagles emblem.

John looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won two Super Bowls, and I even went to the Hall of Fame." God said "So what's your point John?"

"Well, why does Donovan McNabb get a better house than me?

God chuckled, and said "John, that's not Donovan's house, it's mine."

Four football fans go rock climbing one afternoon, a Patriots fan, a Falcons fan, an Eagles fan, and a Steelers fan. They had been arguing all the way up the mountain about who among them was the most "die-hard" fan.

Upon reaching the top of the mountain, the Steelers fan proclaimed to the other three, “This is for the Pittsburgh Steelers!” and promptly threw himself off the mountain as a form of sacrifice.

Not to be outdone by a Steelers fan, the Falcons fan jumped up and said, “This is for the Atlanta Falcons!” and then threw himself off the mountain, again as a form of sacrifice.

Refusing to be outdone by the Steelers and Falcons fans, the Eagles fan rose to his feet and yelled at the top of his lungs, “This is for the Philadelphia Eagles!” and, without hesitation, pushed the New England Patriot fan off the mountain.
GO EAGLES!

Since it seems that all of the teams that I have pulled for, whether pro or college, have been manhandled in the big games I'm pulling for the Eagles this week. I just like seeing the Red Sox and Eagles fans look so dejected, and since the Sox finally won a series there is no need to have another fairy tale story this sports season. Go Eagles!

I have a good, positive feeling that we will sneak up and spank them!

Please god, for a long suffering people, so us thy mighty hand!!!!

They have a chance, since hell seem's to have frozen over in the north east today!

i hate to say it but if it weren't the patriots they were playing they'd have a very good chance of winning this game. but this patriots team isn't just any ordinary team. they destroyed a very good colts team and the best passer in the game and then went on the road and manhandled a 15-1 steelers team without any problem. history will show i'm afraid that this patriots team will go down as one of the best teams ever. they have the east coast version of joe montana, an underappreciated receiver corp, a punishing RB and a swarming, angry defense not to mention the best coach in the NFL. anything can happen but i don't think it will.

The one thing about the Patriots is that they the neutralize the best assets of every opponent's offence they face. So if you're a team like the Colts with their passing or the Steelers with their running game then you're doomed to fail. Luckily the Eagles are good all around - however, once they stop Westbrook - the game is over. Their passing offence will not be enough and so far, no team's defence has been good enough to stop them.

i agree. westbrook is the eagles offense. even with TO westbrook is their offense. by that i mean he is the catalyst. he catches the ball out of the backfield for short gains as good as a run and then he runs the ball then they go long to TO or mitchell. that has been the pattern all year and it has worked all year. against the NFC. unless reid rewrites the game plan and i don't see that happening because of the depth the eagles lack he will continue to try to do what has gotten them this far. like you said if the patriots stop westbrook the game is over. then the burden falls onto mcnabb to win the game and with marginal receivers to throw to and even with a 75% healthy TO they are doomed unless their defense can keep them in the game.

the good news is they will be the class of the nfc again next year. barring injuries and other reasons they should be able to go very deep in the playoffs again.

Yay! Everyones got a perfect record starting yesterday!

16 hr drive home from Jacksonville to Mass... tired... but good game. 65-70% of the attendees at the game were Eagles fans. You guys are very vocal, and brutal to Pats fans. Pats fans just, for the most part, shrugged... (and it made some of them eagles fans quite mad when their 'wit and choice of words' couldn't get Pats fans riled up).

4th quarter, 6 minutes left, one of the biggest, vocal Eagles fans in my section just ppacked up and left. I just said to the all the other fans i was surrounded by "wait... wasn't he your biggest fan?" To which there was -silence-.

Then there was the lady who sat next to my wife, late 50's/early 60's. Told my wife before the game 'Watch out, I cheer very loud and enthusatcially for my eagles'. 2nd quarter she asks me "Excuse me sir, can you please tone down your cheering/shouting? You're hurting my ears." Mind you, we're litterally surrounded by Eagles fans... and I said "No, sorry lady, this is a football game. It's the way I am and it ain't changing". I was fully expecting to be jumped by Eagles fans to saying that to an old lady... or sneered at or bood, or whatnot... nothing.

She left about 8 min into the 3rd quarter. :) After which one of the fans in front of her told us (and others heard it) "She asked me to stay seated.... I through it was rediculous what she asked you." And others were like "What did she do?" Quite funny. It's a freaking football game lady, not a tennis match.

Also, never, ever go to Jax for a game. One 1/2 of the stadums toilets were out of order (all on the eagles side) with no running water/flushing capability... and the ladies rooms on the other side were out too.

Then after the game, all the portapotties from outside were gone and there were hundreds before the game.

It was a game that could possibly go down in history as one of the worst... bad playing on both sides... too many sloppy penalties against the pats, too many 'rookie-ish' mistakes by McNabb (biggest of them was clock management near the end... he could have pulled it out). But in the end, what's been said about the Pats all along... they just have a way of getting it 'done'.

Looking forward to next year already. :)

10) Many will be homeless in a few months when they can't pay the second mortgage they took out to get tickets to the game.
9) They will also be receiving bills in the mail for the restaurant food they "forgot" to pay for in Jacksonville.
8) People everywhere would appreciate it if you washed your Brian Dawkins jerseys once in a while.
7) Pedestrian admission to the Benjamin Franklin bridge is $5. Leave your personal belongings behind but DO bring your last will and testament.
6) Hows that bird flapping working out for you?
5) Rodney Harrison looks good as an Eagles receiver. Sorry, Fredex.
4) Will Smith loves Philly so much he moved to LA.
3) I couldn't help but notice that even when it comes to football, president's named Bush are decisive and liberal Democrats are wafflers.
2) New England had a quarterback like McNabb once. He's now in Buffalo.
1) Did you rent that trailer for the week or did you drive it down from Philly?
