View Full Version : My paranoia is justified!!!
VikingDJ 01-21-2005, 02:47 AM I've always had this paranoia ever since I bought my RX8 and STI. I always park it near window by dj booth where I spin on Thursday and Saturday nights near NYC. Last night I happened to look out window and I saw two guys near my STI, and literally watched one of them reach under my hood. I have to guess he was trying to find a way to steal my HID lights or something. I ran out so fast and started yelling and chasing them down street, and the bouncer and some friends followed. They got away, and no damage was done, although my grille is loose, and I'm going to have to tighten it back on somehow. I thought I was worried before, now I'm pissed off. I am strongly considering lowering my dedictable on STI and raising it on the RX8, and never taking RX8 to my night job ever again. Anyway, I just wanted to vent, since I just got home and am still fired up about this, Thanks for reading.

That sucks man, next time set em' straight. Two sick cars, someone's going to get jealous, I'm jealous too :p
magixpuma 01-21-2005, 06:26 AM to bad you dont have a hand gun. jk jk. that sux
Gambit 01-21-2005, 07:23 AM That sucks man...I hope you get those pricks
mysql101 01-21-2005, 07:35 AM Get a car alarm that senses people in proximity to the vehicle and can also sense shock/motion. Some will even page you if anything is happening.
VikingDJ 01-21-2005, 04:14 PM They may have been trying to steal car for all I know. It would make sense. Disconnect horn, open hood, disconnect battery, jimmy door, hotwire it and be gone. This is definitely a veyr high theft rate car, so i wouldn't be surprised. Might be time to get rid of one of these and buy a beater, so I can use if in rough parts of town and not worry.
ÜberJumper 01-21-2005, 04:41 PM Panic Button on the Alarm Fob not working?
rx8wannahave 01-21-2005, 07:20 PM Freaken thieves...gosh, I would be angry too...arrrr, you should not have yelled and surrounded them...sorry, I should be calming you down instead of joining in...in the anger, lol, sorry...
I understand and I'm sorry you had to see your car violated...sorry
VikingDJ 01-22-2005, 12:47 AM Panic Button on the Alarm Fob not working?
Just went on reaction which is to run outside and protect car, not find my keys and press panic button. It would have been nice if I had keys in hand and thought of it, but I think what did was just as effictive.
NgoRX8 01-22-2005, 01:01 AM Yes what you did was effective. Woulda have been more effective if you caught those guys and started giving them a beat down.
How dare they touch your car. Get some perimeter sensors man. sorry to hear your car being messed with.
sucks to hear that... what can ya say tho? an STi and an RX8? eye candies i tell ya!
.. i read in STUFF magazine a while back that they were selling anti-theft device that shoots a 3-foot wall of flame to anyone who tries to mess w/ the car.. ;) might be a good investment! TOASTY!
VikingDJ 01-22-2005, 03:59 AM After this incident I am strongly considering getting rid of one for a beater car to use in bad areas. However, it's not going to be a fun choice to make. Each car has what the other lacks, so I'm gonna be disappointed either way.

If you're Dj'ing at a club till the wee hours of the morining.... yeah... you should strongly consider that.
clubs districts attract too much riff raff... had my spoiler ripper off at a club
PaulieWalnuts 01-22-2005, 09:38 AM Get that anticarjacking system that shoots flames out from underneath the car :)
Morgan 01-22-2005, 01:09 PM i agree w/getting a good alarm. dont sell either one..they're both sweet ass rides and you'll regret it for a logn time coming
shelleys_man_06 01-22-2005, 01:36 PM Just design an alarm that creates a 100,00 volt electric field. Anyone that touches it will learn fast.

I think you meant 100,000, but I'll let it slide. Anyway that would be pretty awesome. Cop tries to write you a parking ticket and he gets floored. I would just die. I mean if the cop sucked anyway. I'm tired and this is a stupid post. Shut up.
