Autoweek reported that 174.000 mazda 6 have been recalled internationally due to wiring problems in the fog lamp area, aparently potentially burning the front bumpers . Iknow that every car company has recalls but has Mazda taking on to much to soon with their model range line up .mazdas 6 ,2 and the rx8 are they loosing the ball in the quality controll department. At one stage i considered buying the mazda 2 for my wife ,but when i researched the car and found that it was built in Spain ichanged my mind and bought a HONDA JAZZ ,great little car , ihave covered over 20,000 km off delightfull motoring ,i have owned 28 cars since i was 18 including one of the 1st rotaries the R100 ,and i can honestly say that the honda has really given me a lot of great fun it has 7 yes 7 gears on the steering wheels .When the rx8 arrives if it meets my expectations i will truly miss my little honda .

pooman the honda vti-s jazz has the honda vtecsystem it puts out 81kw at 6000rpm torque of143nm at 4800rpm but it offers zippy performance fuel is excellent at 6.5 liters for100km iwish the rx8 could do that.My transmision is called cvt meaning continuoslyvariable transmision its an all new f1- inspired,7speed sequential shift cvt automatic transmision controlled by steering wheel mounted buttons. I have the best of both worlds either as a normal auto or in the manual modes with 7 computer controlled gears mounted on the steering wheel + or - on either side its great fun ,i am also looking at either turbo or supercharging the car further down the track. If the rx8 manages to give me as much fun and excitement as the honda i will be a very happy man.

if a Jazz can give you that much fun, i can imagine how you'll feel in the 8...
not sure about the Jazz but can the CVT handle high HP or torque from turbos?

I don't think Mazda has made THAT MANY Mazda6's yet.
the 174000 cars include Miata, MPV, and the Mazda6 ranging from 1997 to 2002.
and only Japan-built Mazda6's are affected.
