View Full Version : mazda recalls 174,000 vechicle dying_here 05-30-2003, 08:47 PM http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=index&content_code=00534081 Revival 06-01-2003, 12:54 AM ouch thats a big loss mental pimp 06-01-2003, 08:55 AM poor mazda and they were starting to be the best:( Farsyde 06-01-2003, 12:51 PM that's not bad though. At least its not a GM recall like, "car may catch fire and explode at stop lights" rpm_pwr 06-01-2003, 05:52 PM I liked the BMW X-5 recall we had "The brake pedal may fall off at an inconvenient moment....." there was also a problem with power steering racks failing on the same models. So, theoretically, one day you could be driving along and your car turns into an unstoppable, unturnable missile! -pete LiQuiDLaM 06-01-2003, 06:17 PM the 6 is such a nice car, i saw it at my mazda dealership the day i went to pre-order my 8! sorry to hear the recall! ibfubar2000 06-01-2003, 11:02 PM i work for a mazda/mits/olds/kia dealer. recalls are really not that big of a deal. almost every mitsubishi has a recall, a few models have 3 or 4 recalls! they might even have a rx8 recall who knows it is a first year model. . i trust mazda more than i do mitsubishi! besides if you read the article it only happened on 1 car. mazda is just trying to fix it now. they could have just waited. so dont let it scare you thet are still a good company this will be my 3rd mazda. DTECH-RX 06-02-2003, 07:44 AM My wife's Mazda MPV received the same recall about the fog lights. Going to take it in soon to have it done. The fact that they recalled it soo quickly is in no way a bad thing. Just the opposite. It shows mazda didn't want the problem to effect many people if they can fix it before it becomes a problem. I always hate people who trash cars b/c it has a recall out on it. Cars are very complex and sometimes something just goes wrong. At least its just the lights and not a real problem. Y&Y 06-02-2003, 01:02 PM You know I believe there was about 20-30 minor recalls for my 97 civic. But I didn't even taken it in for any of it. :D cueball 06-02-2003, 06:17 PM In addition to faulty wiring on a number of cars, the 6 also was reported to have a faulty brake oil tank that could fail to illuminate the brake lamp, the automaker said You shouldn't be careless enough to reley on the idot. Do yourself a favor and check your oil yourself. |
