View Full Version : Invoice In Hand!!
ibfubar2000 05-29-2003, 01:42 PM today i received the invoice from the dealer showing price and stock number!! getting closer. he told me i was 2nd allocation, but since i was a pre-order mazda made me first allocation and pushed back a few non pre-order cars. so mine will be on the first truck when it arrives here in california!!
RX-Nut 05-29-2003, 01:44 PM scan it! it cares to share. :)

RotorGeek 05-29-2003, 03:06 PM Very nice congrats. I'ts getting closer and closer
jtimbck2 05-29-2003, 03:26 PM
I'm amazed every time I see someone here surprised that someone is getting their car at MSRP. I don't care what kind of car it is, if a dealer marked up the price over MSRP, I'd walk right out to another dealer!
RX-Nut 05-29-2003, 03:33 PM heheh so am I but when you live where I do, you'd probably never buy a car.. :(
well, maybe you could, but it sure wouldnt be something you wanted.
again, I'm not saying I wont get mine at MSRP if I can, however thru my first dealings with every dealer here (only 3), none of them seem to want to even talk MSRP. However I'm sure I could definitely get MSRP if I wanted to wait till maybe end of the year or 2004 even..
That's the prob.. can't wait.

nevermind i see it at the bottom of the invoice.
OmegaBob 05-29-2003, 04:35 PM When I walked into my dealer a few weeks ago (the second I went to actually), he said up front that they were not allowed to sell the car over MSRP and that's what they are charging everyone.
Since I was already expecting to pay MSRP (after much reading at this site), I said it'd be no problem at all.
ibfubar2000 05-29-2003, 04:36 PM so does eplan mean that since i am a mazda dealer employee i get it at that price? the salesmanager says i will get a great deal being an employee but he didnt say how much until the car gets here. i hope i get the e-plan that would be great!

Yeah, that's a pretty healthy discount. I don't know who qualifies for E-Plan, but it's certainly a great price.
I qualify for S-Plan through my employer, but the RX-8 is not eligible for S-Plan until at least the start of next year, I understand. :(

Well actually, they can sell it at whatever price they want.. $1 or $50,000. As Mazda has stated, they cannot dictate pricing with independent dealers. They might not like a dealer selling the car at $50K, but it's pretty much the dealer's car at that point and has free will.
OmegaBob 05-29-2003, 05:38 PM My Mazda dealer is the largest in the Philly region... so I think that they'd wouldn't want the bad press by selling over MSRP.
The first dealer I went to was a joke and I could immediately tell the difference from one and the other - hence the reason why I didn't place my order with them.
ibfubar2000 05-29-2003, 05:41 PM i think i have a great advantage working for the dealer. i will know the minute the car gets here. and i can buy right away no having to wait for a phone call then waiting until after work. just have to wait until it gets here!!
budaman 05-29-2003, 06:06 PM E plan is for MNAO employees and family and Elite Mazda dealership employees(not family members)
S plan is for non Elite dealers and their families, Ford employees,Mazda and Ford suppliers etc.
E & S plan at present won't be available until Jan. 04 on the RX-8.
These plans are also at the discretion of the dealer. They do not have to participate but Mazda does encourage it.
Dealers participation will totaly be dependant on supply and demand just like any other product. If they are selling everyone they can get at sticker, I doubt they would do an S plan.
Eplans are approved at the corp. level and they provide the car. Dealer gets paid a courtesy delivery and the unit won't come out of their allocation unless its an Elite dealer employee.
ibfubar2000 05-29-2003, 06:16 PM yeah i just talked to the sales manager. i will not get the eplan price but i will get a great employee price which will be less than msrp probably invoice price which i think is about $2000 less than msrp. which is still great! at least im not paying $2000 or more over msrp like i see some dealers charging!
budaman 05-29-2003, 06:25 PM You have a very nice sales mgr to give up gross. Are you getting one on the first allocation or are you going to have to wait until your dealership gets a few allocations under its belt. My wife and I are waiting until Aug when her lease is up. I'm kind of hoping we have some sitting by then, but also hope we don't, which means they are selling like hotcakes!
ibfubar2000 05-29-2003, 06:33 PM i was originally on the second allocation but mazda kickeed me up to the first allocation because i pre-ordered and according to the invoice list mine will be one of the first 8 rx-8s here! and since i work here i will probably be the very first rx-8 sold here! because if it is on the first truck (which carries 8 cars) i will be able to purchase as soon as it is unloaded!

Zoom49 05-29-2003, 11:41 PM Here is a copy of my invoice. I was also in the second alloication
and the dealer said that this was one of the first invoices they recieved. Does anyone know what the Load Number is?

? Budaman
You seem very knowledgable about the different discount plans, I qualify for the S-Plan and I am in a dilema as to getting the car now without the discount or wait til.... My question is how accurate is the January 2004 estimate for S-Plan eligibility. Thanks.
budaman 06-06-2003, 04:34 PM As it stands right now, the E & S plans are scheduled to be effective in Jan. Of course if the RX8 is selling extremely well and availability is low they could extend it past Jan. Of course, if the opposite happens, they might make it earlier. Of course we don't want that senario to play out. Also, your dealer might cut you a deal on one that he has in stock prior to that. SPlan cost would be just a few dollars below invoice anyway. The dealers inventory is going to determine everything. I'm hoping we have a few sitting by Sept. so I can take one as a Demo. Ha. The allocations were based on several sales criteria for the dealers and we earned 12, 20,24,13 & 13 on the allocations so far. Good luck with your dealer.
