well looks like i'll be out there but not in my 8. some damn lady in her SUV backed into me when i was driving behind her...long story short...my car is severly messed up. i'm extremely upset but there is nothing i can do yet. luckily it was all her fault. i will say though i did accomplish getting very drunk and eased the pain till i wake up in the morning and see my baby again...

just took some pics...can't bear to look at them though...but i do have a friend with a body shop and i am hoping i can get him to do all the work if that is the case then i will get alot more money with his high estimate and inexspensive(top notch) work, i should be able to get the MS kit or something close to.

It was fun playing pool again, I haven't done that in a long time. Having Daisygirl415 (Tiffany) run the table on us guys was really humiliating. :( I'm just glad that I wasn't the only one to get beat down by her :). I'm really happy that I didn't show up with my own stick like Slim8 (Brian) and get beat by her as well, hahahaha. I really felt bad for Ed having to watch Jenkins-crew (Chris) and I play that last game. It was like a scratch marathon. More of you 8 owners especally in the Fort Worth area ought to show up. It was fun.

The brackets are drawn (thank you Slim) and they have been printed. I made a few copies so we're all not hovering over one. Even with multiple tables, I think this may take us a couple meets. There's a total of 14 games to be played.

When I woke up this morning, my brain felt like a dried up sponge. To help matters even more, I went to each lunch with my son at his elementary school. So try and image hangover head ache, dehydrated brain, and the screaming of a bunch of 5,6, and 7 year olds in a cafeteria. I definitely will slow it down for next week. Hehe! :) Be gentle with me I am old ;) Actually I am new to RX8's as far as owning one but I have been around rotaries quite a bit. I own www.vintagerotaries.com and am 1/2 owner of Scalliwag Performance which we make a lot of aftermarket rotary stuff. My 10th Anniversary Ed. RX7 was the featured car for about the last year on the RX7Club.com before they changed the site and pulled the feature car from the top right of all their pages. It was kinda cool to have that honor while it lasted.
My biz partner, David Sanchez, is going to ride out with me next Tuesday to meet you guys. His background is mainly racing rotaries with the highlight I guess being that he won the first NHRA Import race (All Motor class) at Ennis in 2000.

So we are both old, but thick skinned so you guys can raz the hell out of us. I will just pretend I am home with the wife and kids and so I may not even notice :D I look forward to meeting you guys. BTW I absolutely suck in pool, do they have foosball? ;)

I own www.vintagerotaries.com and am 1/2 owner of Scalliwag Performance which we make a lot of aftermarket rotary stuff. My 10th Anniversary Ed. RX7 was the featured car for about the last year on the RX7Club.com before they changed the site and pulled the feature car from the top right of all their pages. It was kinda cool to have that honor while it lasted.
My biz partner, David Sanchez, is going to ride out with me next Tuesday to meet you guys. His background is mainly racing rotaries with the highlight I guess being that he won the first NHRA Import race (All Motor class) at Ennis in 2000.

So we are both old, but thick skinned so you guys can raz the hell out of us. I will just pretend I am home with the wife and kids and so I may not even notice :D I look forward to meeting you guys. BTW I absolutely suck in pool, do they have foosball? ;)

Are you talking about Judge Ito's RX3? If you click the pic on that page it will take you to the thread where there are several more pics. Some with the one piece front pulled off so you can see the motor. It has 4 55mm tb's setup to where they look insane :) Ito is a hardcore builder with a shop in NJ. He is selling it to try to regain a little sanity. He is too good and he is always swamped. Never has time for anything but working on other peoples stuff :(
He also has a RX8 that he has built up pretty well.
Another local guy I will try to get to come out is Ken Scheepers. He runs the national circuit NHRA Import. He lives up in Flower Mound but I bet he can find time one week at least.
He was running a all-motor 1st gen RX7 until it blew coolant onto his back tires in Jersey last year and he went into the wall at 120mph :eek:
He is putting the final touches on a Modified/Pro-Outlaw RWD RX8. He wasted no time getting that car built. You guys may already know all about Ken so sorry to keep rattling if that's the case. I built some of his peripheral port housings on the last car.

No... yes... well, if it was I didn't plan it that way. I ended up back in FW playing pool with my cousin and his roommate. After 2 pitchers of beer my cousin bought us 3 consecutive rounds of Royal F***s. After 2 more pitchers of beer Alex (his roommate) bought 2 more rounds. After the next pitcher, Josh ordered another pitcher and left! He said he was wasted. Alex and Josh left me drunk with a whole pitcher! (by the way, I lost the last game!)

Well my biz partner David is PR and a lot of the guys that helped build Ken's car also. So is Judge Ito. I'm mostly Cherokee so that makes me the "minority" ;) Ken is from South Africa. He has a great accent... sounds a little Australian.
Hopefully you can get you an 8. I have driven almost every model of rotary except a Eunos and a Cosmo and none come near the 8 except a 3rd gen. But even a 3rd gen is several steps behind IMHO. I am absolutely ecstatic with this car. OTher than some slotted brakes and a couple of tweaks I cannot see much I want to change.

But the dipstick sucks. I am turning a prototype this weekend on the lathe when I get to my shop that will come up another 3" with aluminum ends like the one on my website sorta www.scalliwag.com
This weekend will be interesting. I am going to get the 8 in the shop and see what kind of stuff I can make. Mine has the spare tire option so I will probably dupe some of those since I can jig off of it :) I can't wait to get it up on my lift so I can check out the underside. :D

OOooohhh, body shop stuff is usually interesting. It has my attention. I am hoping that the bod mods for the 8 are cleaner than the 7 and older stuff. Spending 3 days working a nose piece to clean line a car is rough.
There is some Mazdaspeed glass that looks pretty good but I want to read up on how clean the fit up has been before I lay down a wad.
Hopefully you guys are finding out what works and I don't have to be the guinea pig for DFW ;)

We all go through our "lapses in judgment" times. I have pulled some notorious shitters in my time. You just live and learn. Regrets have a way of beating you into shape ;)

Slim, I've been thrown out of my fair shares of bars. I've been thrown out of New Orleans Nights twice. Once because a buddy of mine threw-up in front of the main stage. The other time was when I grabbed a dancer's nose and ended up turning the end of it purple. I can't blame them for tossing me out though. I've also been asked to leave a couple of other bars for fighting. All I am trying to say is, you go out, you try and have fun without getting carried away (experience will teach you your limits) and you end up with stories to tell later.
Besides, you are one of the main members that have always shown up on Tuesday and I enjoy seeing you there.

I told you guys I would make a more easily accessible dipstick :) It works like a champ.
I also made a straight shifter handle as well but it is not finished. I am going to anodize it red and cut larger grooves with sorta fat black o-rings. But I put it on and took a pic in fit up stage. It will look a lot different finished.

Damn Slim, I've never been thrown out of a bar, I've been asked (told) to leave before, but never thrown out. I've have been maced by a FT.Worth police officer once though in Northside. Now that I think about it, I've been asked to leave Denny's once, Country Kitchen once, New Orlean's Nights twice, a couple of clubs in Arlington, and one night my buddies and I (we all worked security at a different club) got asked to leave 3 different clubs in Dallas. Oh I also had security come up to me once while I was at a WWE event at Reunion Arena because I was threatening to beat some guy up. Once the security guy put his hand on my shoulder, I turned around and told him,"Don't you ever f*cking touch me again!" The security guy left and the guy that I had a problem with, then decided to sit down. Oh, this was this one time I was at a Jimmy Buffett concert and some dude came walking through our area and kicked over my margarita, I tracked him down and his friends gave me $20 not to hit him. I wasn't gonna hit him, but I did want him to buy me another margarita.

Haha! Slim is probably feeling pretty good about himself now :D I frequented the bars on Hemphill in Ft. Worth when I was a kid. I guess they figured if you were brave enough to come in that they would let you. Fortunately I neven had any trouble. But a guy shot another guy in the bathroom (we didn't know where the shots came from at the time) and we crawled at a very high speed out the side door. There were two steps down to the parking lot so the first guys out the door (or at least a few people in front of me) kinda tumbled out and then everybody just kind of ended up in a pile for a moment. It's hard to believe how fast you can sober up on adrenaline :)

The poor guy in the bathroom got shot point blank from 2' with a 9mm in the face it turned out. That is the craziest exit I ever made from a bar. Getting asked to leave did happen a few times and everytime it was well deserved.

David and I are going to shoot for about 7:30. His brother Victor is coming out with us. He has a really nice RX-2 and a TurboII that is super sharp as well. But I think he is going to ride with us. Hell between him and David they have at least 8 rotary cars.
