Almost done, here are few photos of what I have done so fare. I will keep you posted on the results has soon as I'm completed. I must say that this has been a very simple install. I will post more photos and maybe a short video of how the 8 responds to the 55hp shot over stock.

Awesome...Finally someone installed it...Just curious are there any problems with the place the switch is on??You could relocate it in the coin place or in the sterring wheel!!!

Anyway.Keep us updated..Great.

Very nicely done. Charles Hill installed his several months ago without any issues and he loves the performance. If you have anything funny going on, you may want to consult with him. He's really bright about these things and has balls of steel to be the first to try new things on his car.

I have been talking with Charles ever sense the begining of the install he was a great help and a very nice guy to top it off :). I would greatly recomend the ZEX kit to anyone, not to be a kiss ass or any thing but they have what appears to be the best qulity kit I'v ever installed, the only problem I had was that the NOS controle module was bad from the factory and would not work at all, so that slowed me down some but ZEX replaced it rite away with no problem. Thats about it, the only other thing I would say that was challenging was running the new fuel line under the intake manifold. I had to remove the upper intake to make room to work, there is NOT much room around the intake area and I have the scratches & scrapes to back it up. After that was done every thing else was simple . I will try and take photos of were I made my wire connections and how I ran the wiring. Over all I'm very happy the way every thing turned out :D

That's true, but it will make a big improvment in 0-60 & 60ft times.

TOP 5!!! Thanks :D

There is someone I know that is in the process of installing GReddy's new turbo on top this same set up GEEEEEE I wonder who that could be  if his turns out great I'm next, 6psi + 55 shot of NOS this could be alot of fun :D :D :D .

Finally finished last night :D every thing went great no leaks or any other problems, the controle module works great and was very easy to program. Programing takes about 30sec. just a matter of pressing the reset button on the module then hold the gas down to the floor for 10secs. and thats it ready to go.
Took it for test drive this morning and WOW!!! now that's how this car should be all the time! pushes HARD all the way 100mph and revs MUCH faster than stock, has no problem spinning threw third, I would say it's at least (.6-1.0 sec.) faster than before :p. I will post more "install"pics soon.

The nos kicks in at full throttle, I try to keep it above 4K RPM to keep it safe. I lot of people make the mistake of spaying at to a low RPM this can cause engine damage AKA holes in things you don't want hole's in  But I have had no problem with pinging or back fires it just feels like it has three rotors instead of two wich is very nice. I have already fooled a 350Z & 4.6 Mustang with my new set up, I LOVE the look on there faces it's pricless :D they give this WTF I just got walked buy an RX-8 look  . I bet they both thank there is some thing wrong with there cars.

I would love to post I video but would need some help do to the fact I have never posted a vid and have know idea how??? any help would be great :)

Why doesn't 55 shot = 55hp? Isn't that what they are advertising? Or are they lying? It is easy to rate nitous, five lbs burned in one miniute = 100hp. It doesn't matter what it's in, a lawnmower or a Merlin. That bit of info comes from the studies done in WWll by both the Germans and the British. Their findings were almost exactly the same. (I know this from seeing the microfilm prints at Langly of WWll documentation.) Then they applied it to their fighter planes. That gentelmen was the first use of nitrous in an engine.

sweat deal, next Houston meet you'll have to show it off. In fact, you may want to add your location to your profile, so if their are other Houston/Texas folks interested in nitrous, you guys can get together.

The car looks even better in person than in the pics, and Tracer takes some damn good pics.

On a nitrous equipped RX8, what additional gauges would I want or need?

rotarygod
01-17-2005, 10:09 PM
If you can find a holysh!t-o-meter I'd definitely recommend installing one.

Bottle pressure gauge and bottle temperature gauge.

LOL Nice one.

Temperature?

rotarygod
01-17-2005, 10:21 PM
It is important to keep the nitrous bottle within a certain temperature range. Many people have an electric bottle warmer in the event it is too cold. If the bottle is too cold, your pressure will be too low. The reverse is true if it gets too hot. You don't want it sitting out in direct sunlight in the heat though. Too much pressure is a time bomb waiting to go off. If your bottle is at the right temperature but your pressure is low, you know the tank is running out.
