I got my book, too. And a note from Mazda verifying I was a pre order customer. It's gratifying. Noi VIN yet, and no word when car's coming. Ordered sunlight silver six speed...

Hello fellow RX8 enthusiasts, I do not post very often but I do read and enjoy the forum very much. I thought I would pass along for what it is worth that I ordered my machine (Black/tan leather, GT package) at the local dealer (Tallahassee, Florida) from his allotment of 9 vehicles. I got my book today as well. This must be the famous gift I kept reading about here on the forum. I have not recieved an email or a VIN number from Mazda as yet. The last time I talked to the dealer was last week some time, they had recieved one VIN number from a car that was not pre-ordered. The person I spoke to speculated that he thought Mazda wanted to get a car to each dealer that was not sold, so that potential customers could look at one. Also for what it is worth the dealer here still has cars from his allotment available, counting my order, they had sold three or four of thier nine.

Does anyone know if getting this book means anything in terms of delivery date or manufacture date? Again, I do enjoy the forum this is a group of well informed folks, I enjoy the tech and spec posts the most. Even though I do not fit the age group the RX is supposed to appeal to. Oh Well I guess an old man can enjoy a sports car just as much as the younger folks.

Bye the way, this is a nice book but I would rather have the car.

well i guess i feel special because i got my book today and my vin number a week ago. I ordered my auto rx8(yes make fun of me but it was not my doing) in blue gt w/navigation. I thought mine was going to be one of the last ones to build, but i guess not. The book is very nice though. Its a nice little history of the rx8 from concept to what we hope in our driveway soon.

Gratz Herc, I just got home from work, and guess what! My book was in my mailbox! Apparently my dealer got it right!

No VIN yet, but I have a book, so I'm definitely a pre-order so I'm happy for now.

No vin here as well. But when I got home there it was, the book we have ALL been waiting for :D.

The reason I need to know is I have moved and I know that any "first class" mail will be forwarded.

got mine too, the books have been sent in mass.. I see one or two other threads about the books... rofl.. no VIN as of yesterday...
