You are correct, it is blue... I don' think that blue will be available from the factory...

Is there somewhere online I can stream or download the whole X-men trailer. I'd like to see the car in action. I didn't even know a sequel was coming out, was the first one any good?

I really really really want the dark blue color to be available. You've probably seen my Photoshop request in the pictures section of this forum for a dark blue one similar to the blue that BMW uses for their M5’s, etc. I set the reply to that request as my wallpaper for a few weeks. I want one just like that (thanks Mach) Blue is a good color because it is not as boring as white or silver, not as “hey, pull me over” or feels awkward in a funeral procession as red or yellow, and it’s not as hard to keep clean as black.

One last thing, I did notice that in the trailer, the engine sound isn't correct, as usual Hollywood butchers the sweet sound of the rotary!
hey rotarynews. how does someone come to that conclusion, since noone that ive heard of has a sound recording of this car running. could it be that due to the new porting,cats and exhaust that this 250bhp na engine does sound like that. you can only hear it for about a second and it sounds pretty good to my untrained ears.
also i doubt there will be any weaponry in that car, wolverine is all the weapon he needs :cool:

They's rigged it so you can't post the direct URL, but I guess you could look at the source code for the page with the java player... I think it's ALSO rigged to stop you from downloading it to anything other than their java player becaause I got a few seconds and then it cut off...

Yes, quicktime does suck... but I actually have it working better on my Linux boxes with Wine than on my solo W2K M$ box. (on the windows box, I have to reboot after watching a clip, since all the icons and menu text turn to complete garbage...)

I'll see if I can convert it to a DIVX format or Mpeg... hum..........

That would be cool, post a link to the DIVX on here... or upload it on my FTP server and I'll leave it there for others.

hey blue, i have the vid of the rx-8 in the snow saved on my pc now in quicktime. i went to the website the link takes you to and fished around until i til i found it. i'll see what i can do about the movie trailer. a guy here at work claims to be a decent hacker so if i can't get it i'll see if he can. he's not in until tomorrow though :(

I think you'll find that those long random numbers are because the links are 1 time downloads... I got those URL's too...

I keep trying the Apple Quicktime website, the links, EVERYTHING and I can't get the trailer to play. All it does is lock up/slow down my computer and eventually never responds...

Am I doing something wrong or is the website URL or (maybe the producer's server are purposely) doing this?

they shut down the page with the trailer as far as i can tell.its not even on the official movie site now. i'm trying to find someone who ripped it before they closed it down but so far no luck:mad: i will let everbody know if/when i find it.

update! i just finished converting it to an .avi format. now i'll work on posting it. by the way it is @ 25 mb in its curent form

if any body knows about posting to an ftp server i could use some help here. the address blue posted is fine but i dont know what the u/p rx8/mazda is and when i try to connect to the server it says i need a pass word. help:o

ok i did it. woo hoo! i'm starting to get the hang of this. any body that wants the xmen 2 trailer with the rx8 in it, it is up on blue adept's ftp server. its the .avi file but i think i saw the .mov file there as well. happy downloading.:D

That's fine... it's a good conversion too.... The shot of the car is very fleeting though... not sure it's worth a download unless you've got broadband and aren't bothered about 20 megs for 2 seconds of blurry black rx8.

I hope we see more of it in the film, as it could be a markeying boon for Mazda! I wonder if they'll release in May to benefit from the free advertising?

after much searching i came across a free downloadable program called rad video tools. that is what i used for the conversion and it made it really simple. it also does some kind of compreession stuf which i haven't really tried to use yet but it seems to be an excellent piece of software.
it is quite a short and somewhat blurry view of the rx8 since it is moving but im on a dsl line so it made the uploading and downloading quite quick. i wouldnt even attempted it at home on my modem.
this process has be an education for me. a challenge to my computer skills that im glad i took on.

well considering you posted a QUICKTIME .mov file, we don't feel one ounce of guilt. :D

That was the point block911, the link you posted was a quicktime file... and since Apple neither document the format so others can write players... or provide any players for any platform other than Mac and Windows.... it's completely useless... I hate M$ but Apple should be made to suffer for Quicktime... even the windows users I know refuse to install the quicktime player since it repeatedly takes over file associations for files it's not very good at playing and generally screws the machine up (So they tell me)...

The file Zoom44 posted was MPEG4/DivX which is at least pretty standard and cross platform...

There are 3 things in IT that really bug me:-

1. Undocumented file formats.

2. HTML pages that "Require" a specific OS or Browser before you are allowed to look at them (Mazda!). The only thing worse, is the "You must have IE 4.0+ or Netscape 4.7+. Please upgrade before looking at this page"... My elimentary math might be rusty, but last I checked Netscape 7.0 is greater than Netscape 4.7.

3. People who THINK that Windows is, and forever shall be the only platform.

uhm, block? sorry you were unhappy with my attempt to convert the .mov file to a .avi file. part of the problem stemmed from the way the original was posted on the net in the first place and then removed the day i found it, so it took a couple of days and tries to find it again. also none of my freinds that i was able to talk to that are tec people could help me out with the conversion and that took awhile to find a free software to do it with. and since i was attempting to do all of this and the ftp transfer at work during what turned into a very busy week and using ftp software that i was not familiar with it took some extra time. my posts in between were just trying to keep everybody updated as to my progress. a couple of times i just edited my post so as to keep my post count down, don't want to look too much like a post whore. ;)

oh by the way i clicked on your link several times this afternoon and it doesn't seem to work. you should check that. maybe the server is just down. :rolleyes: :p
