Talking Finished at last! My modified RX-8 project cars.

Finally finished my winter projects. The first is my custom tuner RX-8 "bling bling".

The second one is my Fujimi kit. Both cars are 1/24th scale. Had this one sitting in a box for 6 months, finally finished it during Christmas/New Years.

That's sweet! I take it you can build it sans wing? I've got to get one of those!
Nice job

Thanks. Yes you can build it with no wing. In fact Fujimi has several versions of the RX-8 kit.
- Type S
- Type E
- Aero
- Hydrogen
- Veilside
- RE Amemiya
- Mazdaspeed A-spec (this model kit was just released in Dec. 04)

Hey I have the Amemiya kit too, but it will probably take me until next year to build it. So post some pics of your RE Amemiya RX-8 and you can still beat me to the punch (on that particular model kit).

hachi, those photos look great. I was thinking of adding an RX8 model to my vast collection of unfinished models. Since you have more than one brand, would you please comment on the quality or each? Authenticity, number of parts, fit, finish etc

I was looking at the Fujimi about a year ago but the owner of the hobby store said that he didn't care for Fujimi.

The first car is not a kit, it's a diecast model made by Jadatoys. I just modified it. Detailed the interior, added carbon fibre to the B pillars and made some other exterior enhancements.

Fujimi is the only maker of a plastic scale RX-8 model kit that I know of. The "Amemiya" kit is a tuner version of the RX-8, but it's still made by Fujimi. IMO, Fujimi is not bad. The kit is pretty basic, but everything goes together well. The exterior is nicely done, but the interior isn't well detailed. I like Tamiya the best, but unfortunately they don't make the RX-8. Not sure why, they've made a kit of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen RX-7.
