Best fast food restaurant: Carl's Jr. Burgers are SUPERB (for fast food, please understand), but the regular fries suck, so I usually spring for the onion rings.

OK, so I'm not exactly a restaurant sophisticant. So, sue me! :p

Carl's Jr. sucks. The best fast food burger joint gots to be In 'n Out. Hooters is great where else can you have good alcohol, sports, food and friendly (not to mention attractive) service.

I hate going to Restaurants like PF Changs, Wolf Gang Puck's, Cheese Cake factories and the Olive Garden. The first three are like wannabe hollywood style, over priced bland food. And the olive garden well is just plain ghetto here in So Cal. Heard stories where one of the chefs jerked into a salad for several different customers.

... how wonderful. :o

anyways, living in the wonderful city of Vancouver (or at least the suburbs) the best chinese food money can buy (outside of China) is at my fingertips... if someone asked me "where?", look for a place that has as little english on the menus as possible, and a two word name like "Golden Pearl Restaraunt" (no, the "restaurant" part doesn't count :p) or "Dragon Fort" or "Noodle House"... something like that.

those are my favourite restaurants. :D
$5.00 cdn, and you get a pie-plate full of beef gai lan that would fill 2 of me.

Momo's pizza. Best pizza place ever. Period. The slices are soooo big they are about 14-16 inchs for just one slice. They sell a huge 36" pizza for 20 bux.

I also love mexican...too many places to name. If you are ever in Tallahassee don't ever, i mean ever eat the chinese food in this town. It should be a health issue to just open one in this town they are cursed to make you crap your pants for days.

Pigozzi's - South Haven, MI, everything is made from scratch. It takes a while to get your meal, but it's worth it! :)

Morro's in Saugatuck, MI is a martini bar/restaurant in the middle of bfe and has an awesome menu and for a single man, local talent isn't bad either! :D

(^_^) Sometimes I forget how special the San Francisco Bay Area can be when it comes to finding kick-ass places to eat. That is, until I start reading various opinions from around the country and what tastes-like-crap-here and what sucks-ass-there. I must be a little spoiled.

While there are still crappy restaurants to be found if you're unfortunate to stumble across one, around here, thanks to its diverse racial mix, one can find very good examples from many many ethnicities. I even hear the Ethiopian food is excellent! (although I've yet to try it) From Arabic to Vietnamese, from snobby gourmet joints to hole-in-the-wall dives (my favorite, BTW), this area just about has it all and doesn't disappoint if you know the right places to look, IMHO.

No way, man! Last time I went to In'N Out I was sorely dissapointed. Definitely not the same place I went to as a kid. Nope, it's Carl's Jr. for me when I have to eat cheap and fast.

If you are looking for a place to impress a woman, try Bistango in Irvine, CA. No too far from Mazda NA corporate office. You'll need reservations on the weekend, and some week nights. Excellent service and live jazz. Moderatly/high priced.

PF Changs serves great food. Compared to fast food, may be its expensive, but for the food quality I dont think so.

Legal Sea food is great, a bit pricey though.

The best food around Houston has got to be any Pappas restaurant, Saltgrass, Boudreaux, Los Cucos, Chuy's, and Jason's Deli because I work there :D. Everyone here thinks Taste of Texas is the greatest, but it's not worth the wait. Also, avoid San Francisco Steakhouse. Yecch .

Fast food: In n Out all the way. Carl's Jr. is good, but the only thing there that's that great is the western burger. Wendy's is a close 2nd.

Best restaurant: Probably Stanly n Seaforts in Tacoma, Wa. Went there for my birthday a couple years back.. beautiful atmosphere and best yet, wonderful food.

Best chinese restaurant: Honey Court in Seattle, Wa. Best authentic Chinese food ever. EVER!! :D Oh that and the Royal Box in South Tacoma Way, Wa. ^.~

I also liked the Ram in Wa, but I dunno if there are any here in Cali tho..

Quick mexican: Tacos San Pedro In hawaiian gardens.. (just don't park the 8 there)

restaruants

Lately I have been a fan of El Pollo Inka in Manhattan beach,

other places around the country I have been to:

Wings: Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon PA (you have to sign a waiver for the atomic wings!)

BBQ: Lucilles bar and grill (not bad but one heck of a wait)
the real biker place: Dinosaur BBQ Syracuse NY (awesome ribs, BBQ, and Harleys)
hmm i know there is more but I cannot think of them right now..

My favorate places in KC

Gates is good, one of my favorate lunch spots in KC.

Then there is that great Piano/Jazz bar over off of seventh and central in downtown, what is the name of that place again? Hmmm.

Several great places over on the Plaza but I usually just ended up at Uno's. Even though Houstons is nice as well.

Gates is quite good. I use their sauce in place of ketchup on pretty much any meat and potatoes meal I eat. If there is one thing Kansas City can do better than any other place in the world its bbq. If you want true hardcore barbeque Arthur Bryants is the place to go. Smokestack is what I get when I want a few pounds of meat and a gallon of baked beans (best baked beans) for takeout.

My ex-girlfriend worked at unos on the plaza in highschool. I was never really that impressed with that place or any other chain restaurant.

I know two waiters that work at Houstons though I have never been there.

Figlios and Fedora on the plaza for good Italian
BO- Lings for chinese
Blue Koi for noodles
Minskys for pizza (only place that will make my bacon, pepperoni, cream cheese pizza and make it right)
Jerusalem cafe in westport for dank gyros & mediterranean
Gojo Japanese Steakhouse in westport

Those are some of my kansas city favorites.

Greek - Sparta in Brugge, Belgium
Schwarma - any of the stands in Amsterdam
Italian - Maggiano's in Chevy Chase/MN Washington DC
Steak - Ruth's Chris in DC
Brazillian BBQ - Freshfield's in Rockville
Korean - Ichiban in San Diego
Sea Food - Paulie's in Woonsocket RI
Mongolian BBQ - Khan's in Copenhagen
Chinese - I'm kinda partial to the greasy Taiwanese place down the road from here.

If you just want to go nuts, it is hard to beat some of the places in Vegas. You can get anything there, but just be ready to pay for it.
However, if you have time and balls, nothing beats New York. Certainly the best pizza and felafel.

Its a Pricey chain, and really not worth it. You can get virtually the same thing at your local Outback or Webber Grill.

St. Louis:

Best italian is Favazza's on the hill. Great place, that and Mike Antinoa is a cool guy.

Pho Grand off of Grand blvd. is great but you have to get there early becasue of the line that ususally developes. Best viet food and great resteraunt.

My favorite:

The Sardine Factory in Monterey, right on Cannery Row.

The atmosphere is wonderful, service impeccable, and the abalone bisque is divine. I fall in love with whoever takes me there. :D

PS: the wine list and BEER list are extensive! Try the Fat Tire Amber Ale.

You have a lot to learn about good restaurants my young padawon. ;)

Those are OK places he mentioned, but I wouldn't tell someone to drive across town to get to them. The Perrys duo and Frenchies happen to be three of the better places in Clear Lake, but don't quite compare to what is downtown.

For seafood, I like to sit outside and feast on the cold seafood buffet at the Crab House in Kemah and watch the boats come up the channel. Villa Capri is a nice place to take a date and eat outside in spring or fall watching the sunset on Clear Lake (it's owned by the same chef as Frenchie's)- I love their bouillabaisse. Clary's in Galveston is sweet too, kind of an old-fashioned atmosphere, superb fresh fish and soft shell crab, overlooks the water. Thai seafood on Nasa 1 is an overlooked hole-in-the-wall that is wonderful.

Americas is still my favorite restaurant in Houston, though I haven't been in a while. Exotic food and decor, great churrasco steak, good wine list. I love the potato chip-encrusted calamari and the plantain chips.

For wings, it's hard to beat BW3, but I like Wings and Things and Wing Stop too. I love wings. "Tommy likey, Tommy want wingy!"

Marks, Cafe Annie, Colombe d'Or, Tony's, or Rotisserie for Beef and Bird if you want to spend a lot of money on a date. Good stuff.

I'm going to Rouge next week, that is supposed to be a good one.

Bleh, Ruth's Cris, I'll never understand why they do so well and why so many people like it. It's a decent for a chain, but you can do so much better for the same price (especially in Chicago and NY), and their winelist is godawful.
