...on Wednesday, southbound 101 past Brisbane before SFO. Shows a red RX-8 with a caption that reads something like, "Try to blow THESE doors off."

Since then I've been taking the long way home every night! (^_^)

*edit* Meant to say Brisbane, not Millbrae. What was I thinking?

Yeah. There is one in Orange County near the Lincoln exit of the 57. Looks like the revolution has begun! :D

JayDee I don't think us westerners will be anywhere near the Lincoln tunnel on our way to Manhattan anytime soon. Orange County, CA is far enough.

Where in Dallas did you see this? I had another thread telling about the billboard at the south end of the toll road.

It's a little west of where I work, downtown. It at the east side of the West End (now, covering the mural of the boy pulling the wagon) near the World Aquarium around the intersection of Griffin Steet and Pacific/Elm and Bryan all come together around there ... and it's near a bus stop...

Hey, if you come downtown Dallas at all around lunch time - PM me and I'd be happy to meet for lunch and talk about RX-8's ...

That is the same billboard as on the 55 freeway northbound at Lincoln Blvd. in O.C. California. I don't get the message either.

Sorry folks, in my first post, I meant to say Brisbane. I hope no one was looking for the sign down in Millbrae. My apologies if I sent anyone on such a goose chase. (-_-)

That billboard is the same as the others being posted, with the caption reading something about the doors.

Okay, close enough, bwayout get the prize :D Actually it's North La Brea, heading towards Melrose and Sunset.

As for you guys that don't get it, you're kidding right? LA is like the plastic surgery capitol of the world, cruise down Sunset in W. Hollywood on a Saturday night and just try to stay focused on the road!

I saw on in Ft. Lauderdale on 95 heading to the Ft. Lauderdale airport this weekend. Seemed like something similar to the ones everyone else has seen.

What do you think about the practice of car ads having a blacked out front window? You can't see in. There are TV ads the same way - it looks like there is no driver. But, you can't buy a car with a tint that deep. Is it misleading to advertise something you can't buy? And, i'd like to see where the driver sits. What do you think?

What's with the "mostly silcone" thing? Is this a breast implant suggestion or am I off base?

You can't buy it with that deep of a tint but you can get it done aftermarket. I plan to put a 35% tint on the windshield and 5% on the rest of the windows. Most tint shops won't give you a warranty when you tint past legal law tint. Of course the type of sun you get in Vancouver and the type of sun I get in Scottsdale,AZ are 2 different things. I need it that dark here.

My brother said he saw one outside of sacremento that said "Can we interest you in a nice red" with a picture of a red RX-8. Very fitting for wine country. There are 2 on the NJ turnpike right before the Lincoln tunnel as well, but I don't remember what they said...

Did you notice which cab company it was? My uncle drives for Whittlesea, and has an RX-8 ad on his Ford Explorer. I've asked him to take a picture.

In the "Try to blow these doors off", the RX8 looks TERRIBLE. It looks squat and small and the lines don't show off at all. I don't understand how they managed to find such a crappy angle, since the front view of the rx8 is almost always awesome.

Hey dreamgetter1 - any change of getting a larger version of your icon? I swear that's the most accurate reproduction of Winning Blue that I've seen! Does she come in tit gray too? :D

Is this meant to be a commentary about boob jobs? lol, jk.

The reference is NOT to Silicon Valley which is up in the SF/SJ area and totally wouldn't make sense in LA. The original interpretation is right: Everything in Hollywood is silicon; not just boobs but lips, cheeks, nose, whatever. Agree it's a strange ad (I'm from San Diego, a whole different culture) but that's still what they're alluding to.

I agree with wannabee. I don't get the SF one though. I think it said "Try and blow these doors off!" if I remember correctly. And yeah, the picture wasn't all that flattering. Of course, the Ferrari in front of me didn't help either.
