Hello,

I guess I should introduce myself first. My name is Dave but my friends call me Wave. I have been lurking here for a while. I got interested in the RX-8 when I saw an ad online for the Car on another site. I have been obsessed ever since!! I have not ordered one but hope to later this year. In my search for great pictures I could not really find anything with the total package that I really liked. But I found many thanks to many of your posts and put this together. It's not perfect but I hope some of you enjoy it. I thought I would share it with you all.

I am so happy I got the appearance package because that thing looks so bad ass!! I'm not a rear spoiler fan but even that looks good.

If somehow you could crank out that pic in Tit_Gray, then it would be heaven..

Very nice! For some reason the red always looks good in the pics but in person it seemed kinda weird. At the auto show it didn't seem like a pure red. Did anyone else notice this?

so im curious how you got it to reflect so much...did you start off with a silver or black model?

Great wallpaper its brought a lot of positive vibes into the forum ,since every one is putting in their requests WAVE could you do one in the lightining YELLOW this would look bonza (oz for great) against the blue and welcome from down under.

Well Thank you. It's my pleasure. Like I said, I am completely obsessed with this car. I am currently an unemployed artist and I enjoy doing these. Hopefully I will get a job soon so I can get my own RX-87 soon! ;)

The yellow is so good. If only they had the two-tone leather, I would have got it instead.

Waves looking at the wallpapers gives me a positive hard on and from the sounds zoom zoom is also exxxxciiiteeed great.

Brothervoodoo surely with your magical powers you could have turned the black leather in to yellow ,iam getting the local autofitter to turn mine into the two tone yellow and black in my own version ,keeping steering wheel all black.

I was wondering if this is apperance package, plus spoiler, plus exhaust package only?

Is this showing what they call the mud flaps?

Hello roachman,

What you see in the picture is the appearance package, which includes the front air dam, side skirts and rear aero flares. The mudflaps have different design elements to them.

In addition, you have the rear spoiler, exhaust accents, strakes, rear foglight and gas cap. BTW, this is the eurospec car as the turnsignals are white and not yellow.

Your first attempt in that color fell inbetween the Gray and Silver. A little darker than silver but a tad light for Gray.

Your second attempt was interesting, that color seems to be a cross between pearl white and silver (lighter the the actual silver).

Mystical powers will only take you so far but I think money will get you any material object you need. ;) I already have the full "meal deal" package minus the Nav. In addition I have been looking over some new rims and those things are priced btw $2500-$3500 for a set!!! I haven't a clue how much customized upholstery would cost here in the expensive west coast, so I dismissed that idea fairly quickly. I ruled out blue for the same reasons and the red seemed like the de-facto color everybody would pick. I then settled for Gray with the Tan interior. But after reading this forum it seems that Gray is a hot seller, oh well. I think my magical powers are defective, I wonder if they are still under warranty. ;)

It looks like gas cap that was on the one of the rx8 prototypes at the Detroit Auto Show; thanks, but no thanks. It was very cheap looking. :(

I just wanted to let you all know that I updated all the colors to try and make them as close as I can. Also if there are some of you who would like me to post certain colors without the custom gas gap just let me know. :cool:

Thanks, I don't want to bother you ... but I have a thing for the batmobile ...and I wouldn't (yes I would) want you to add some rear wings and a turbo jet burner to the back - because I know how much time that would take to do in Photoshop ... changing the color of a gas cap is one thing - adding unreferenced (an un-official) body parts is another matter ...

I just now had a chance to see what you did with the titanium. Wow, really nice job taking off the appearance package and spoiler. I noticed you really kept the color exact throughout all different revisions. From your many versions I was able to piece together all the elements I wanted in my pic. I took your original Gray with skirts, added the normal gascap and superimposed the the 'no rear spoiler' and everything looks great. Thanks for doing all the hard work to allow a "cut&paste" dummy like me to piece together the picture I wanted.

I'm looking forward to the other thread and see what you come up with using your new scanned material. You are very good at what you do.

Well thank you BrotherVoodoo. I have been using Photoshop for nearly ten years now. Let's just say I know it well. ;) And I love doing it too. If you want to see some of my original creations you should check out my website. Those are all created from scatch with no photos. Hey do you think Mazda will give me a job so I can get one of these babies? ;) I am absolutely nuts about this car. I'll be making some more fun desktops in my spare time. Astonishing, I'm really impressed.

I've spent hours browsing the net looking for a decent black shot with the arc spoiler. Only now how am I gonna get hold of one in the UK?

oh, and the exhaust trim is the business, i think that's gonna become 'the' must have accessory for the black finish.

That is not an accurate depiction of the exhaust finish, at least for the 8's in the USA.

I'm a new memember & was browsing the site when I came around here & noticed your amazing pics (I've visted this forum a few times, in hopes u'd post a pic of my newly-ordered car)

It's a red rx8 with: NO aluminum fuel door, & no chrome-plated exhaust plates (yet) It does have the aero kit & factory-spoiler. sunroof & leather.

I was hoping u could post a pic with my accessories.

Hey thanks buddy but I am still around!! Just got real busy with some freelance work. I'll try and take care of these last few requests and see if I can't come up with something new. I love this car and enjoy playing with it artistically!! If all goes well I will be driving one not too long too. I tried to scan some picts from the brochure but they were printed to small that when I blew them up they didn't turn out so good. If any of you have any great pitures I would love to create some new pictures for you all. Maybe I can get some good shots when you people start getting you new RX-8's!!

The exaugst accents are available as an optional extra, dealer fited.

There slightly different (plainer) than the x-men ones.

Wow - I just got a look at your photoshop skills on these many pics you've done, and am very impressed - and I work in the field of computer graphics! I was wondering if you might do up a silver one with the appearance package, spoiler, gas cap, and front mud-flaps - I was thinking of getting the front pieces to "complete" the underbody kit... I've tried to hack one up myself in photoshop, but I would never be able to get the angles and warping and such right. It just came out messy. Anyway, if you have the time, I would really appreciate it. Thanks much.

Wave, the filesize of the pictures are rather large. Here's one at 2272 x 1704. approx. file size is 2.3MB. Right-click the URL below and save directly to your hard drive (instead of just clicking on the link).
