Hey everyone, new to the board and especially new to the mazda family. Just wanted to announce I put a deposit on the RX-8 in sunlight silver but second choice is titanium gray, still deciding which colour though.
But looks like I won't be receiving my car till end of the year....ouch.

Well Congrats N1-R. You have some catching up to do

there is a ton of reading you can do here by simply searching for keywords on subjects you want to know about from breaking in the engine to oil type to options to mileage to torque, etc etc etc.

I wouldn't be very surprised if you get one quite a bit before the end of the year - Mazda wants to sell around 30K of these a year, so they need to build and stock their dealers. And *don't* pay over MSRP for yours! There are plenty of dealers willing to sell for that to pay over.

WTG N1-R! I just put a deposit on an 8 this past Saturday. If everything goes as planned, I should have it my mid-July... since there are so many dates floating around out there... who knows!

Yup I've been using the search feature day and night and reading for along time ever since I found this board. I know how to use the search feature cause I was a veteran on another board related to my previous car (RIP Integra Type R) so people were always hassling noobs how to use the search feature so I didn't want to turn into a noob myself and knew what to do :)

Yupyup, I'm definitely not paying over MSRP, just smack on MSRP. But the crappy deal is that I have to get the GT model, which is the higher model in Canada but the only difference is that GT comes with leather seats and HIDs while the GS comes with cloth and halogen lights. I wanted to get GS w/ HID optional if they could do it as some sort of package deal cause first I don't want or care for leather, I like cloth better, cause it doesn't burn your ass in summer and freeze it in winter and the cloth holds you in better in fast corners too.

I have a Recaro SPG bucket seat from my previous car ready to be put in the RX-8 but it'll go weird with the leather seats. So hopefully my dealer can find another GS model for me.

You guys are lucky to get it so soon. I won't get mine for another half year or so. :(

At least in the winter you could use the heated seats to keep your butt warm, now all you would need for the summer would be a remote start and keep the A/C on when you leave the 8.
