View Full Version : Last Buffy Episode...

...what was once a glorious, intelligent, well shot, directed, scripted, and action-filled tv show for us younger folk has slowly, painfully, and ungraciously died (its final time).

it's too bad really... i do wish Jos had let just not taken the money for the 7th season... a complete waste of effort by all involved... i mean sure, UPN probably thinks it was the best season ever, but they're the folks who brought you Moesha (or however you spell it)...

i saw the second last, and last episodes of season 7 ('cause i had to, right?), and only caught one other episode, where there was actually a cool scene of the principal and Spike battling it out to the tune of One Fine Morning (the Friendly Giant, anyone?? ;))

huge gripes:
...after Buffy kills Caleb, she makes a crack about it, and then (get this) GIGGLES about it like a little girl... what the f*ck was that??? not to mention the nearly inexplicable appearance by Angel (where was that amulet from?? how does he have time to come and see Buffy when he's trying to fight Jasmine, or in a hell dimension, or killing his own son for his own good??... omg... dont' even get me started) which was unbelievably cliche'd...

and how about Spike, DYING at the end?? he's a champion now??? since when???? what the hell did HE ever do, other than knock Buffy up (which is another very stupid development)... at least Mr. Marsters will be heading to Angel (i think) and can really put on a good performance with Jos and the boys who can write a little... jesus christ, i loathe UPN...

here's the biggest one: Willow's supermodel girlfriend... because i didn't punish myself by watching almost any of season 7, i didn't discover this until last night... the thing with Terra in university was neat, 'casue that's a sort of awakening time for a lot of homosexual teens, now free of an environment which would be extremely hostile to them... Terra was sweet, kind, betrayed by Willow, then came back, then taken away again (insanity), then came back (sane again), then taken away finally (killed by a stray gunshot)... the kind of love they shared on-screen was beautiful, as true as any i've seen on any size of screen, and NON EXPLOITIVE... it was an extremely sensitive, and honest look at somewhat real homosexual girls, saying "it's okay to be gay"... the best part i liked about Terra and Willow was that they didn't look great... i mean hey, they're not ugly, but they're no Miss World or whatever... it wasn't about the sex, it wasn't about the triviality of being gay... but this "new" girlfriend... omg... the ONLY reason she was there, the ONLY one, was so that UPN could have a super model lesbian on the show. that was it. i hate them... a lot.

well, i hope to god that the WB doens't go f*cking with Angel much, and just let Jos do his thing...

the SINGLE redeeming facet of those last two shows i saw:
when Giles, Dawn, Jonathan's nerdy buddy (what's his name?), and Xander were all playing Dungeons and Dragons, they mentioned Trogdor the Burninator (see: StrongBad series), scoring some "still with it" cool points.

The nice thing about Buffy fans is that they make Trekkies look like ROCK STARS.

right right, the ambiguously gay Andrew... anyways, i think that the final battle should have cost them more... like, why did she save Andrew and die herself?? that was stupid... but seriously, the show shouldn't have been like, just Spike, Annika, and like a few of those nameless extras... even Buffy with some kind of supposed "mortal wound" magically gets back up, doesn't die, runs and catches a bus leaping over roof tops... *groan*

Xander wasn't even in there like he used to be... the whole Principal and Faith scene was UNBELIEVABLY STUUUUUPID!!! holy crap... it was like watching 12 year olds try to dis each other in highschool... and then the trite "oh i fooled you! i'm not really dead :p" thing at the end... jesus... it just couldn't be worse.

i'm so serious when i say i wish it ended in season 6... the tombstone was bad, but not as bad as THAT POS...

Buffy who? Sorry. I missed the series. My only regret being that I missed plenty of gratuitous butt shots of Buffy. Oh well...

OK, here's a Buffy pole I can relate to. Who's hotter?

Christy Swanson

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Christy Swanson gets my vote. Prettier face, taller, more (ahem) curvaceous. Sexier voice too. Gellar's voice is irritating.

My wife is a big fan of the show, so I've seen a few episodes here and there. I caught the last two.

We were both disappointed by the whole amulet that Angel dropped off. What was the point? They ended the whole series by being saved by something completely out of the blue. That's just flat out bad writing.

I was also irritated that they didn't really resolve anything about the relationships between Buffy, Angel, and Spike or Xander and Anya. The whole show Buffy's been bouncing between different guys, she finally seems to be falling for Spike, for good... and then they just kill him off. Same thing with Xander and Anya. It just bounces back and forth with no resolution, and then she gets killed.

I'm not saying it should have been all happily ever after, but it doesn't fit the rest of the show to resolve your relationship dilemmas by killing off people. If they'd resolved the relationships either way, and then killed people, that would have been fine.
