Drink holder & the parking break become a little bit warm after you drive the 8 more than 1 hour.
Because you will put your arm around the parking break while you are driving, you notice the warm breath of wind coming from the red circle I illustrated.

It is acceptable and no problem to me. But, you may be suprised if you do not know about this :D

The problem of hot air could be due to the gear box wearing itself in anyhow it could come in handy in the cold winters of japan . You are one lucky guy to be cruising the streets in your rx8 ,unfortunately i will have to wait till august or september before i get a chance to own the rx8.

Another possible cause is the exhaust treatment bulge
which I remember adds heat somehow. Heat would rise same area.

The S2000 had the same warmth coming from the same exact spot.

My TT has the exact same thing. Warm air comes from the parking brake / window and lock switch area... It gets a little annoying on a hot day, but it is tolerable.
