I just thought this was completely insane. Either this person is a complete idiot or can't read. This is a 'right to buy' auction on ebay. $10000!!! OVER MSRP!!

A good laugh for the day anyway.
What is sick is that someone had actually bid. What a poor idiot.

Chances are that it was a "spite" bid with a fake username. If somebody did bid on that for real: (clears throats and says sarcastically) "I've got a second Titanium 6MT Sport Package RX-8 for sale for the low low starting bid of $50,000 US! June delivery! Be the first one to own an RX-8 for $50K that you could have bought for $30K a week later!" ;)
Better yet....someone send the link to Mazda (see what they have to say about it) and/or e-mail the Seller a "question" about why they are making an ass clown out of themselves. LOL
Besides, it does sound like there are first allocation cars available for purchase if someone really wants one anyway! It's not like these are going to be limited edition cars or anything.

The bids look legit. What morons.
It's funny as well because it's for the right to buy a Rx-8 at $XXXX over msrp. So after you pay the 10,300 you go down to Mazda to cough up an additional wad over msrp.
I can't believe these bidders can't find a car anywhere. There's still two left for June delivery in Sarasota.

That's exactly what happened. I e-mailed the winning bidder just for the hell of it and he thought he was bidding on the actual car. ;)

There's a reason you're supposed to READ the entire auction and its disclaimers BEFORE you bid...what an idiot. How anyone could think they were getting an RX-8 for $10k is beyond me.

i emailed a seller and got the most ludricrous reply in the world, saying this is a legit auction blah blah blah... then i emailed him and said you must be a mazda salesman and is going through this dirt tactic to get your couple Ks above MSRP since mazda corporate strongly discourages it, and no reply... what a rat...
