The burbs.. Long Grove to be exact. Moved to TX in 97. Went to tech for 4.5 years in 98 and got back to dallas december 02.

I miss portillos and ginos too.. and malnatis and bob chinns.. and and and all the other good food. You ever notice that chicago people always miss the chicago food??? Lol. Why do you think we go to BJs every thursday. It's the only place we (I) can get chicago style pizza w/o orderring it on dry ice from malnatis (you can order portillos the same way... www.loutogo.com)

What time does the group usually leave? I may be able to make it if it breaks up by 9pm or so. I would LOVE to finally put some faces with these names. It's just hard to do being in FW.

damn...i never knew there was a golf course right there. might have to go play that sometime when the weather is a little nicer.

also when i start working and have some money and gas to blow i'm gonna try to make it out to BJ's after the holidays. seems like i will have to drive across town to meet or hang out with other 8's.

The RX7 guys used to hang out every thursday in downtown fort worth at citystreets. That's why I picked addison to begin with. We used to do bonedaddy's but that was too far out of the way for alot of the guys.

Do you guys have a place in mind? Since we already have a first saturday meeting, how bout like a third saturday meeting somewhere out that way? I dunno what you want to do weekly, but we do have people driving all the way from irving and rowlett to hang out in addison. I agree, gas isnt cheap, but we all make do. I spend prolly 150 a month on gas alone and it's worth every penny.

My only problems with going to a starbucks out in ft worth area are 1. that it's in fort worth :b and 2 that i just kicked that habit, lol.

Anyway, if you guys can come up with a place you'd like to meet regularly, we can certainly drive out that way once in a while. I'm always up to hang out with like minded individuals (rotary owners) and meet a few new ones.

I'm willing to meet next week. My x-mas family time came early this year so I'll be in town.

Addison is 20 minutes for me whereas grapevine is close to an hour. Why on earth did you texans have to have such a huge state?!

Grapevine would work for me. Much closer than Addison. I think we can go as east as Texas Stadium area and be about half-way between FW and the North Dallas area. I bought my car near there and it was a 45 min drive.

During the week is best for me too. Weekends are just too crazy.

This spring, we'll have to see if we can get our two groups together one weekend. Maybe meet in the middle or such. I'm pretty sure a bunch of the OKC Club Members would drive down. It'd be cool to get the two groups together. It's good to see the DFW group doing so well though. :cool: Not quite as many interested 8' owners up this way.

My car will probably be in the shop 1 day this week. They're replacing the door panels, the rear view mirror and possibly my front right shock. I've got some bad rattles and that shock makes an odd noise when u take a speed bump at any speed when it's cold out.

Ok, I'm spreading the word. I've started a thread for a meeting on 22 December in FW. Take a look and post if you're interested. We've got a lot of people who live in/near FW who I'm sure would like to meet other 8 owners.
