?They already tried the supercharger for the RX-8. So far no go, they're saying the engine is not compliant with any type of FI and it's a pain in the ass. They are wishing they would've just upgraded the RX-7's engine and went from there.

Who knows though, they might perfect the supercharger but right now the Renesis is disagreeing all types of FI like your stomach to a bad batch of meatloaf. "

~this quote is from a memeber on neweclipse.org....i think he's wrong...I've seen in many magazines that Blitz has a supercharger coming out this spring..i'd like to know where he gets his info from..

heres the link neweclipse.org (http://www.eclipseforums.org/fortopic171245-0-asc-30.html)

Well, he's in Meridian, Mississippi, a well-known center of automotive design and development. (Apologies to anyone from the Magnolia State.) From the tone of the forum you cited and the posts of that particular contributor, I'd say he hasn't demonstrated any "inside knowledge" of much of anything, including the development status of rotary engine technology. :)

The problem with that board - and it's not unique to that board - is the membership is comprised largely of kids. There aren't many mature drivers there. Reading the replies you can see kids who are more concerned what their 'car' can do. There are MORE RX8 drivers concerned with what they, as 'drivers' can do with their cars. It's darn impossible to explain to immature drivers the concept of driving pleasure.

A 2004 GTO would WASTE my RX8 in a drag race. I chose to buy the RX8.
My Miata could waste my RX8 on some road courses. I chose to buy the RX8.
There are likely THOUSANDS of Eclipses which would waste my RX8 in a drag race. There are hundreds which would waste my RX8 on a road course too.

I still chose to spend MY $28K on an RX8.

Why?

Class. Take an Eclipse to a Valet at a fancy establishment. Drop an RX8 off at the same time. Which do you feel would be parked closer to the front?

The RX8 is classier. It's nicer. I feel like a million bucks while driving it. When I park it, I walk way backwards because I can't take my eyes off it. Right this minute I have my RX8 parked so I can view it from my office window. The car sits about TWICE as far away as the normal parking lot, but I don't care. I like being able to look out my window at my car.

For you single guys, Pick up a date in an RX8, or an Eclipse - which would give you more confidence?

Which car 'feels' right?

The RX8, if nothing else, gives the driver a sense of participation absent in cars in it's class, and in some costing much more.

As owners, we need to stop making excuses for our cars.. "Yeah but, in the twisties..."

The RX8 stands on it's performance, and owners need to hold their heads high knowing they are fortunate enough to drive a car with class, STYLE, peformance, comfort, and convienience.

Ever watch TopGear?

"...That is a VERY VERY VERY good car" - TheBrittishDude.

What's an Automotive Performance Expert ever said about an Eclipse?
:)

That's all. Rant over. :)

Lol. No fair, I had a first gen DSM- Talon. Stock about 12 years difference and about $6 k. With that pic you have about $35k difference.

Those DSMs were no joke back in the day. :)
