I cringe every time I here about another RX8 getting smashed. I also here about the "curse of the silver 8” which is why I joined this forum in the first place. I'd like to see a show of hands on the color of 8 you have crashed or someone else smacked you. If you got a pic... post it.

At first I thought you ment who put "custom" as an option then after looking at it again I see you are referring to who actually has a custom color car... I'm a bit dense sometimes. :confused: But I really do want to change the "Custom" to "Other".

Jason, I see I made your wreck page, #10. It breaks my heart to see wrecked 8's. Not just mine. When I went to the page my hart skipped a few beats. Also see you have the one that was involved in a fatality to the second party. #5 is really a scary looking one. Do you know the story on that one? Actually, I wish they all had a brief summation of the accident. Can you do that under each on that site?

We are getting dusty snow this AM. No winter tires, 8 stays in the garage today. I certainly don't want to become a victim of this. Looks like curse of the silver is holding true so far.

There are two pix of my wrecked red on Jason's page.... the smashed rear-ender and the blasted rear window. The accident occurred on July 19th, 2004 and the car is still in the shop today, December 13th, 2004. Nearly five months without her now. :(

As of Friday they still have not started putting her back together again. I keep getting that don't call me, I'll call you rountine.

A Dodge Dakota pickup truck, at about 40MPH (I was stopped in heavy traffic, and he was a clueless moron who wasn't paying attention). All the details in this thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=34536).

I was supposed to have the car back two weeks ago, but when I went to pick it up they had done other damage to it and had "not noticed" a bad vibration in the drivetrain at idle. Turns out the motor mounts had partially sheared as a result of the hit, so now those are being replaced and the parts they broke (center console and gouged paint on a wheel) are being fixed.

Hook flew off a car transport truck and went threw the front of my car.

Sunlight Silver is on the run...
Followed closely by Velocity Red with
Brilliant Black drafting on Reds rear.
Chasing closely behind running tire to tire are
Winning Blue, Titanium Gray, Lightning Yellow, and Custom (what ever the hell that is).
I don't know if the crowd can handle the excitement! I think I wet myself!

I have added my VR to the list of hit and hurt! I had very little damage compared to a lot of the pics I have seen. Thank my lucky little angel watching over me!

Silver, although it wasn't a "wreck". Got hit in the front bumper by an unknown assailant. And dealer smacked the front bumper again about 2 days later while getting my oil changed.

My car seems to be a magnet for idiots that don't know how to drive. Back in July I had a twit cut across an intersection and ran into me head on. Her momentary stupidity caused $13,500 worth of damage and I almost lost my sanity driving a Toyota Prius for 6 weeks.

The car had only been back in my possesion for 6 weeks when I got rear ended while I was waiting to turn into my driveway. That moment of stupidity caused another $6500 worth of damage and another month in a rental car. I'm just grateful that it wasn't a Prius. :p

mine wasn't wrecked. but i had a crazy girlfriend smash out the back window and dint the truck and the passenger side door.....she is gone now.

silver is cursed...i'm convinced...mine wasn't wrecked, but has had a number of problems, and was hit in a parking lot :(

Preliminary estimate before they get into any damage under the bumper cover is $5600. Oh and that doesn't include my new fishtank...

Thanks, I'm going to ask to keep it and really turn it into a fish tank since that is apparently what it should be after the wreck. Bumper cover was quoted at $305.28 plus painting.
