I'm just wondering what the beliefs are on this board:)
If you wish, post to what extent you believe as well- there are such things as "casual" believers

considering it is in the Forum Conduct:
"9. Do not start threads on religion in the Lounge area or anywhere else. Experience with the forum has proven that religious discussions inevitably become flamefests, which are prohibited (see the first rule above). So don't start them."
I'm not giving this one much time to live but while its here I'll put a few cents in :)

Wait is this because I said 'Jesus' is the most evil person in that last thread?
All I know is my girlfriend was raised Buddist (she is Chinese) but went to college met a few friends who dragged her to Church and brainwashed her into Christianity.
She was deep into Christianity...her friends followed a much more conservative Christianity then I had seen my friends involved in.
Her Christianity was ruining our relationship so I did the only thing I could do since I love her...I researched the origins of Christianity and what I found was shocking...the New Testament was fabricated...Jesus most likely never even existed... even the best parts of Christianity almost no Christians in the world were following and there was so much more! So I presented my findings to her slowly over a several months and now I'm happy to say she is Christianity free!
Here is where I started but it is just the TIP of the Iceberg:

Wow Truemagellen I am concerned you did that to your girlfriend. That's really interesting you did that. If I can challenge you, will you please read the book "The case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Lee is an attorney who was fed up with folks talking about Christianity and so started to read the Bible with the intent to find its faults and problems with it. He found out that the Word of God is truth.

OMG speak of the devil you mentioned that book!
My friend, who is a conservative Christian, gave me that book to read! The author of the book comes from a 'legal mind' perspective right? So do I, I started reading it and it was so poorly constructed I could not finish it...so I did some research and there were many critiques of the book...many who found his playing with logic was so outrageous it was comical.
Come to think of it...I still have that book in my closet! I forgot to give it back to my friend!
Oh and now that the whole 'christianity phase' is done with my girlfriend our relationship has been great...she has mended friendships with friends she abandoned for Christian friends...PLUS she is getting along with her family better
I think I'll write a book on how to de-program those who have been brainwashed by Christianity...I'll make LOTS and LOTS of money...and hopefully Target/Walmart/and such will stop selling so much Christmas goods and start selling more car supplies :)!

A store has no reason to change christmas into "winter vacation", or "happy winter solstice".
To hell with anyone who's offended by a holiday. The holiday exists for a reason and renaming it, or trying to change it's meaning isn't productive. What's interesting is that the xmas time is when stores make some serious money, yet they try to down play the reason they are making so much profits.
