online will be on another version made JSUT for online game play.... i doubt anyone will actually go and buy the online one... cause i'm pretty sure all if not most of u have mod chips and sooner or later they will ban the modded ps2s from online gameplay... so i'm guessing the online version might not make them money...

I also heard that they are holding the release of GT4 because Sony wants to wait for Microsoft's 'GT4 killer' game called Forza Motorsport, which is suppose to come next year. Anyways, I played the demo for Forza and i thought it was pretty good. The graphics aren't any better than GT4 but the handling is very realistic.

If sony was worried about that game, that only gives them more reason to release GT4 sooner - to capture the users before they have an alternative.

Yup, I talked to Gamestop today about my pre-order for it. Jan 19th is the current date for release. At first they were going to remove the multiplayer features for that it which would have put the release date before X-mas. Apparently this drew a lot of flak so they have to put that feature back into the game which now puts the release date at Jan 19th. Hope that clears things up for you all.

seriously, however i have gotten two free tshirts from the game stop where i preordered. I walked in asked wheni can pick up GT4 and they said not for a while, want a tshirt...and of course who doesnt take a free tshirt right.

EB just updated their web site. The release date is now set at Feb 15, 2005.

By the way, all of you guys who are waiting for GT4 to come out, do yourself a favour and get the Logitech Driving Force Pro. You won't believe how much more you can get out of GT3 with it, and with GT4 having the full 900 degree support, you will not be able to put it down for sure.

If you are buying the Most realistic driving simulator, it really doesn't make much sense to drive the cars around with a joypad.

Why do game companies even bother giving us release dates ahead of time...all they ever do is push it back, then again, and again......they did the same thing with halo 2

I've actually considered those options after I bought the wheel but I realized that these are mostly for comfort than adding realism. Like ZoomZoomH said, a quick DIY project can achieve similar results. Now, if games start supporting "Tilting" effects in a racing seat setup, then it would definitely be a buy !

Fu*k Polyphony Sony and GT4. They keep screwing with people. Release the game so I don't have to ready anymore threads about it being delayed again.

It's a great game but not that great. If they keep building it up people are only going to be let down, and at this point it better be freaking flawless.

The only people building the game up are GT fans and why not? I mean the thing is going to have 600+ cars with sound and physics taken from their real counterparts. It will have tracks on it that mirror the real tracks down to a ridiculously small percentage. There won't be anything like it. period. So what if it takes a while to come out, in the mean time there are other driving games coming out that will be fun and should kill time while we wait for this monster to drop. (and yes it does suck that they keep pushing the date back, I was reeeeeeally hoping for a "GT Christmas" :( )

I pre ordered it in the summer at EB but i am not dissappointed because I know when I get the game it is going to be the best racing simulation game I have ever played only next to Lotus for Genesis ;)

hahahaha, clearly, your love had turned into hate over here.

Not sure if you have read the news at GameSpot yet , but the delay is due to localization of product for all those other countries. Which means the Japanese and the English version had been ready and collecting dust since maybe August.
