View Full Version : How many times have you been pulled over?
afeldman327 11-29-2004, 12:01 PM Just curious about how many of you all have been pulled over. A quick story, quite humorous i thought, that gave me the curiosity for this thread:
Last night I was driving on a deserted Rt. 50 east in Maryland at about 11pm and decided to let the 8 stretch its legs a bit. I was cruising constantly at around 95mph but did spurts on straightaways at around 108. bad idea, considering i was about the only car on the road and I knew my chances of being pulled over were higher than normal.
There were no cars in front, no cars behind, and i was just having a great time, music cranked up and all.
All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a cop pulls up right next to me while i'm doing about 100, and just paces me. I had NO IDEA where he came from. of course i immediately slowed down, but he continued to just pace me on my passenger side. When I look over at him, he just smiles at me, nods his head, then passes me, cuts me off, and takes off at about 115mph!
don't know how i got out of this one, but i imagine it had something to do with the fact that he liked my car and honored the fact that I was just giving the car what it desired. or something like that...
this never happened in my '95 Millennia!
Just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience.
NoPistonsHere 11-29-2004, 12:23 PM Nope, I usualy get pulled over and then they say "nice car, you just get it (yup Mr. Officer) could you tone the speed down a little bit".
Gambit 11-29-2004, 12:25 PM haven't gotten caught in this one yet...pulled over twice before and got a BS ticket and a warning
mysql101 11-29-2004, 12:27 PM been pulled over 4 times in my life. Two I got speeding tickets. One I got an illegal u-turn ticket. The fourth one was a warning on Fathers day when my new truck had a busted tail light.
Never been pulled over in the RX-8.
Tigster 11-29-2004, 12:31 PM I got pulled over after a couple of weeks of getting the car, it still had the temp tag on the back and the cop just told me to slow down. I was going 72 in a 55. He was behind me in a unmarked red dodge inteprid.
Maybe the cop was off or going home to his hot wife?
Got pulled over once in the 8 for an illegal U-turn 2 weeks ago but got away with a warning. Whew :)
r8ped8 11-29-2004, 01:12 PM ....step out of the car and place your hands on the hood................... :(
aggietiff28 11-29-2004, 02:18 PM I wouldn't have pulled over for the red dodge intrepid...too risky. I haven't gotten pulled over in my 8 yet, but got plenty of tickets in my S10. All for speeding if you can believe it in a truck that can go no faster than 93mph. I am friends with the Chief of Police here in my town, maybe that helps. :D
devoid 11-29-2004, 02:19 PM I think I've been pulled over 8 or 9 times this year...all within the first few months of this year....only a few were tickets but non stuck....(all in my plymouth acclaim)
95 in 65 (I was well above that) - court turned it into failure to obey a traffic control device
80 in 65 - court turned it into 5 parking tickets
illegal tint (2am on pitch black night) - no ticket cause it wasn't really tint, but rather heater core busted a hole and fogged up, so he couldn't see in.
illegal tint (I had my windows rolled down) - ticket, but working on getting thrown out cause long story short, I was in the right for other reasons than having my windows down
80 in 65 - 10 months later and court still hasn't called me back for pretrial
you're getting the idea.... :) They'd be better off just leaving me alone...oh well I guess. ;)
Petrus 11-29-2004, 03:20 PM I have lost my licence 3 times to speeding, all of them in my Beemer.
Speed-ER doc 11-29-2004, 03:20 PM A long time ago, a motorcycle cop sneaked up beside me on the freeway (speed limit 55, I was doing about 70) and paced me. He just made a "five-five" sign with one hand, and eased past.
colin204 11-29-2004, 03:56 PM 2 tickets for speeding in the 8, both given by motorcycle cops and 3 warnings for no front plate!!
bryrx804 11-29-2004, 04:07 PM 0 speeding, 2warnings, 1 Tint in my old car,1 careless driving.. Good story to go with this one. Fought it and won. 1 faliure to yeld. I fought it and won- Hip hip hurray.
Ninja 11-29-2004, 07:12 PM One pullover and ticket so far in the 8 (75 in a 55). Convinced my wife I needed a radar detector since even she didn't notice I was going too fast.
Lots more with my previous clunker - Never bothered to fight them though, because I figure if I'm doing the crime I'll do the time. :)
Overport 11-29-2004, 08:56 PM I havn't gotten pulled over once, and I speed alot. It's all about having a very reliable radar detector and knowing your area. I have no pity for people who get pulled over!
Snowdog 11-29-2004, 09:45 PM I've not gotten pulled in my RX-8 yet...
I hope that remains the case for a LONG time.
Cezblue 11-29-2004, 10:02 PM Just curious about how many of you all have been pulled over.
zero...and I drive like a maniac...but then I got a badge myself :p

lol...he was probably responding to a call that's why he was gunning it.

Hell, my luck would never be that good! I'd have been pulled over and the car torn apart. Then as luck would deal me it's ugliest hand, I would be strip searched and thrown into a 8x10 cell with a steriod pumped dude named Thor....
You're damn lucky!

Feras 11-30-2004, 01:07 PM cant catch me lol :)
nah ive been pulled over twice, once for a stop sign violation, another for a disobeying signs citation (speed limit sign) i was able to fenagle my way out of an actual speeding ticket.
MadRonin 11-30-2004, 01:41 PM I've been pulled over a few times mostly for speeding. The officer let me go in every instance accept two. One was legit, I was going 75 in a 65 zone in my RX-7. The second time was complete BS. The officer claimed I was going 90+ in a 65 zone after pacing me for 11 miles.
The one and only time my wife's been pulled over was the first time she drove my RX-7. It was a little faster than what she was used to....a Geo Tracker. :D
I once got out of a ticket by calling myself a moron. A state trooper pulled me over for running a stop sign at the bottom of an exit. I wasn't paying attention and thought it was a yield sign. When he came to my window I asked how he was doing and he said he'd been better. I replied "Yeah your day would probably be better if you didn't have to deal with morons like me running stop signs." He laughed and said that a lot of people mistake that for a yield sign. He let me go with a warning. The best part was my boss's wife was in the car (we were all camping over 4th of July weekend and she and I ran to get supplies) and she was freaking out because I got pulled over. :p
93rdcurrent 11-30-2004, 04:20 PM Too many to count...
I have only had about 7 or 8 tickets though.
