I agree with what rotarypower said, this site needs more threads. Anyway, I'm a big fan of awful movies so I'll just post about that. I recently saw "King Solomon's Mines" on HBO several days ago. Anyone who has seen this knows it's an Indiana Jones knockoff but it is just so fn funny cause it's so bad! What's so bad about it? Well it feels like I'm watching a National Geographic African Tour '85 special as the characters visit what seems like hundreds of African tribes, including one that swings from vines upside down! If that isn't enough there's gay Nazis! A huge spider that doesn't do anything! An underwater paper mache dinosaur! PEOPLE EXPLODING IN LAVA! This movie is like Raiders and Temple of Doom rolled into one huge ball of crap! It's great! What's even better is that this spawned a sequel (Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold) that has the love child of Gene and Richard Simmons, a young Elvira and PLASTIC BATS ON STRINGS! Rent these now!

hehe, cool thread. I am going to have to say any one of those crappy pornos that come on cinemax. Jesus h. Christ those are bad. I mean come on, a planet of the apes porno.

MRocks
05-12-2003, 11:33 PM
Well pornos are always bad cause they're not made to be serious or get the plot over, they're just made for the action, BABEE! The best, worst movies are always the ones where the director sets out with a vision to make something really good but fails miserably instead. The worst movie I have ever seen is "Feeders", which has to have a budget that rivals the cost of a lunch at any high school in America. This also happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time cause it's just so ridiculous. You can see a review for it here: <a href ="http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=171" target = new> Feeders</a>

I kid you not. 'WINTER KILL.'
Its a cheesy 'Texas Chainsaw' wannabe.
My daughter is in it so I had to see it at the theatre when it came out.
It was actually on satellite last week.
Seen 'Eyes wide shut'. Seen 'Plan9'.
THIS is, by far, the woist.
Best part is my Pathfinder starring as the cop car at the end.
(Pathfinder copcar?)

.
Dont tell her I said so.

MRocks, there is nothing wrong with a little action now is there;) But I digress, since you indeed like cheesy movies, you must rember this one. I think the name of it was "ravaged" or something like that. It was about a group of dudes running around the woods eating eachother so they could gain eachother's powers. Should have been named "when Donner parties go bad" or something, but man was it one of the finer C- movies I have ever seen.

ding ding ding, we have a winner. RotorGeek has just offically picked the worst movie of all time. You have just won an all expense paid trip to the hawaiian isle of your choice, where you will spend 4 days 3 nights in the beautiful bayside resort, sipping on drinks and thanking Mariah Carey for being the complete assclown she is.

Man, not too many "USA Up All Niters" eh?!

5 words: "Killer Clowns from Outer Space"

What other movie has a murderous clowns, cotton candy cocoons and exploding clown noses that explode with popcorn.

On the other hand, a sad movie would be Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Hercules in New York" or "Pumping Iron".

I thought it was funny as hell when she had a "nervous "breakdown when the movie can out. I guess she saw what a piece of $hit movie she made

Yea man, you didn't know about that. She flipped out right after seeing a sneak preview of her movie. Sad part is she wasn't the only one either, why do you think they pulled the movie so quickly. The government saw the horrendus effects the movie had on people, so they had to shut it down. But dont feel sorry for her, the movie is still in use. How do you think we took baghdad so quickly.

Plan 9 From Outer Space (http://www.bmoviecentral.com/bmoviecentral/reviews/Plan%209%20From%20Outer%20Space.html) - Ed Wood's tour de force. Ya gotta love a movie that uses the same two chairs and a wall as an aircraft cockpit, suburban living room, back porch, and spaceship interior. (Did I miss any? :) ) Favourite quote: "He's dead. Murdered. And somebody's responsible."

Running a close second: Robot Monster (http://www.bmoviecentral.com/bmoviecentral/reviews/Robot%20Monster.html), another B-movie gem from the 50's, with the title character ("Ro-Man") played by a guy in a gorilla suit with a paper-mache space helmet. Favourite quote: "I must, yet I cannot."

All about my mother, by Pedro Almadova.
It's stars penelope Cruz before she was hot. It's all about lesbians, transvestites and nuns. The most confusing film ever.

Second for me would be Moulin Rouge. Dad and I watched the first five minutes than realised how crap it was and we turned it off.

Also most Steven Segal MOvies.

KISS are cool! Gene Simmons is cool!

Sorority babes at the Slimeball Bowlarama - this was not a porn movie, but with that title, it should have been.

Everybody Says I Love You - borrowed from the Library by my wife (thank god she didn't rent it). This "film" is a Woody Allen musical/romanctic comedy with some pretty familiar names - Drew Barrymore, Goldie Hawn, Alan Alda, and Natalie Portman. We watched the about 20 minutes and had to turn it off!

Damn, I just got to work and I see this thread blew up! :D
I actually had the pleasure of seeing Crossroads, and by choice too! It was on Showtime about a month ago and I wanted to see it cause I heard so many bad things about it.

Here's a movie no one mentioned yet, Manos: The Hands of Fate! It's constantly floating around the top 10 of the top 100 worst movies lists on the IMDB. Here's a bit of trivia too. After this movie came out and after being such an embarrassment 3 of the actors in the movie committed suicide! I've seen the Mystery Science Theater version of this movie and that helped it move along a little but otherwise it's so painful!

--Spaceship (starring Leslie Nielson & Cindy Williams)

--Cobra vs. Ninja

--Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam (The Man Who Saved The World) aka "The Turkish Star Wars"

I, like you, thought the first 20 minutes of the movie were like a really bad MTV video. Nothing made sense and I couldn't care less about the characters. But we held out. Then the peices starting falling into place and midway through the movie we were totally hooked. My Ex and I saw it probably 10 times.

Maybe we fell hard for it because it forshadowed the breakup of our relationship. But I think you have to give a movie more than 5 minutes to know how bad or good it is.

yes, wholeheartedly: what a serious piece of shit (which won awards??? god... what BS).

anyways, gotta disagree with Eyes Wide Shut, i definitely think it has its very high points.

also, i must say that Freddy Got Fingered was only a complete failure because of Rip Torn: that moron ruined the entire movie... Tom Green was unbelievable...
it's true some of his gags were pretty crappy, and the stupid f*cking editor (that obviously doens't understand Tom's comedy AT ALL) cut the cheese-helmet scene in leiu of that trite salami bit... but how can you top "Daddy, would you like some sausage?"
:D

You bet it is, wakeech!

Ah, the memories of my first time watching that mess. One of the best "bad movie nights" ever. (yes, we have those every now and then) View at your own risk! (^_^)

Basically, it's a very, very...VERY low budget Turkish action/martial-arts flick that (at the beginning only) "borrows" space battle scenes from Star Wars: A New Hope and features music from Indiana Jones and Battlestar Galactica for it's more rousing moments throughout.

I have to throw out Collateral Damage as my pick. It is the only movie that I couldn't at least suffer through to the end. Kind of like it was just good enough so that I couldn't laugh at it, but so bad that I couldn't watch it. Now, with lowered production values, it could have been a real gem. :)

And can you believe Travolta is actually considering making the sequel? I guess that's true devotion to one's religion (for those that don't know, Battlefield Earth was written by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, of which JT is a devout member).

Battlefield earth is worth watching once because it so bad its funny.

However the worst movie that i have ever seen had to be the remake of mchales navy. This comedy just wasnt funny. I was terrible. I saw it in the budget movie theater and paid 75 cents to see it and felt horribly ripped off. I came in the movie excited to see it because of some of the big names in it. (Tom Arnold, Bruce Cambel, that black guy whos name i cannot remember, that guy who always plays evil guys with forgein accents) anyways that is easily the worst movie i have ever seen. Simply because it was so bad it WASNT funny.

Battlefield Earth
Karate Kid 4? (The one with the girl instead of Daniel-Son)

The genie movie with Shaq... oh God was that bad...

I thought I would dredge up this ANCIENT thread (fascinating read from this temporal prospective) in expectation (Oct 21) of one movie with one name that should count itself lucky to get one star.

DOOM

Is the title predictive of The Rock’s career?

Doom is a great game. The movie will be a success if it reaches half the popularity that the game did.Yes it was. I spent many a late night in the computer lab playing DOOM DM (was it Doom II? I dont remember; 1994) when I should have been working on some random paper. I recently bought DOOM III but was disappointed. Anyway, movies based on games generally arent very good, so Doom takes a hit there. And Doom didnt have a story like tomb raider. Finally, the trailer suggests a FPS perspective throughout the movie. That just seems like a recipe for bringing up the JuJuBees! For a FPS perspective, I will play an FPS.

Hmm, I actually do like Moulin Rouge. If you have any bit of a "hopeless romantic" side, then you would identify with the characters in this movie. I also think the movie was tastefully, and artfully executed. Bravo to the actors, because I dont think I could have held a straight face singing some of those songs.

Titanic

How the hell you can stretch a F'ing boat sinking into a 4 hour movie that makes you want to try and gouge your eyeballs out with a spoon just to get that horrible piece of shit movie out of your head.

If you like "so bad they're good" movies, these are classics. (They're not "so bad they're painful" movies.)

If its got the tag "An Original SciFi Channel Movie", it's probably a good bet to be in the running with most of what's already been mentioned here.

I agree all of those movies are horrible, mosquito being the worst I think maybe the snakehead fish one, although battlestar galatica is excellent.
