One theory on lack of dealer response is:

If you lose interest in your Preorder and bailout or go to another dealer...then, the dealer gets your preorder and can sell it for what the market will bear!....$$$$$$$

I highly doubt that. It has more to do with lack of communication within Mazda Corp. I work for FoMoCo and understand that each division/department is too tied up to work about communicating new product info to the dealerships. It happens all the time. Nature of the beast - especially with a car like the RX8, there is no need to feed info to the dealerships to increase profit because what is out already is enough to get people, like you and I, to go ga-ga over this car!

Will no-one other than the big luxuary brands do ANYTHING do educate their dealers so there might be some people who come back because of SERVICE and not simply product?!? I've been to several Lexus dealerships on many occasions, seen how they handle new customers, returning customers, and everybody else. In my opinion, that experience is immensley persuasive when deciding who to talk to first when you're out looking for your next new car. Would you rather deal with the slack-jawed *explitive* at your local <fill in the blank> dealership, or go to the place where the salesmen actually know some technical specs, product future/redesigns, and still treat you like you're the Pope of Chilitown?

Sorry for the rant, but I'm getting sick of my dealer/salesman... :(

Went into a dealer on the other side of town today, he knew his stats - "five coming and seven deposits taken", but couldn't care less about info or details.... I told him I was considering either a 300Z or RX-8, he just said "come back in July, maybe you can see one."
