Why does the AT only have one oil cooler? Would it be possible and/or advantageous to add a second one? Or could the second one be added as a tranny cooler?

My 6spd only has one oil cooler.... don't ask me why, but Mazda Australia decided it would be sufficient for the Australian climate.

It is possible to add a second one if you wish. It certainly is advantageous.

I'm not sure about utilising the second one as a tranny cooler, anyone else know?

Would adding the second cooler be better utilizing it as an oil cooler or a tranny cooler? and I still am curious as to why th North America version has 2 oil coolers in the 6 speed as opposed to 1 in the AT?

The AT dont get as hot as the MT so they only put one. You can get a universal cooler.
