I bought my wife a 05 Corolla XRS. nice, fun car but the problem is its a manual and she needs an automatic due to a now hip problem that makes it hurt to shift. Does anyone own the 6? I happened to look at one while my 8 was in for service and it looked great. I am thinking I could get a great deal like I did on the 8 for one of the many 04's they still have. Any impressions of this car?

The 6 is awsome.

I have a mazda 6s auto '04 (so not a wagon or 5 door). It is my wifes car, but I drive it a lot too. I love it. It is a great car. I have driven almost every competing car in it's class/price range (except the Acura TSX). All these other cars i drove for an extended period of time as rentals too, not just test drives. I LOVE the 6 compared to every other car I drove. It handles really well in the mountains (I'm in colorado and love the mountains...), it is good in the snow. It feels really solid compared to other cars construction. It has a HUGE trunk. We went for a weekend to my wifes parents and we just had a kid, so we had 2 suit cases, a stroller, a pack and play, a portable swing, and some other stuff and it ALL fit in the trunk. Amazing...

It also has the Manua-manic tiptronic shifter thing too. It isn't as good as a manual, but a good comprimise for me (cause I don't like autos at all...). It is a lot more fun to drive with that in the mountains as well. The V6 is pretty quick too. Could be faster...but if you really want to splurge, wait for the Mazdaspeed 6 to come out. I would love to get one of those.

My brother has one. He loves it. I like the car....not wild about the dash though.

Tell her to hold out another year and get her the Mazdaspeed version :D

The mazda 6 is an awesome vehicle! Can't go wrong with it.

I drove it today while I was waiting on my 8. I was very impressed. Taking the wife Saturday and letting her decide. Of course they need to make the same deal they did on the 8 since it is an 04 so I will see.
