Well, I was hoping Mazda and Mazda dealers would have learned from other forums like evolutionm.net and i-club.com about markups on new cars, but looks like we may need to start a preemptive "Boycott List" of dealers that are starting to get greedy and marking up the RX-8.

Sorry folks 18,000 per year (US) hardly makes the RX-8 a "limited edition" vehicle. Let the dealerships beware! Both good AND bad news travels fast on the Internet and car enthusiasts are quick to share their experiences with each other!

Mind your pricing....we are watching.....bwahahaha. :D

I have 10 dealers within 35 miles of SF, Redwood City was one of them but I didn't get around to asking them. I questioned six of them and had only one try to quote above MSRP. Everybody else willing to go with Mazda recommendation. The culprit was in Sunnyvale. The other dealers in SF, Burlingame, Walnut Creek, Newark and Vallejo where ready to take order's accepting a downpayment between $500-$2000.
