whats up. this is my first post just wondering if anyone has heard about the rx-8's driveshaft... I heard from a mechanic that the prototype snapped several. Is the drive shaft made of carbon fiber ? also is it possible to get the mazdaspeed kit as a factory option in the U.S. ? there is only 2 versions right - automatic and manual 6 speed? thanks for your help

Welcome to the Forum, RX-UL8R. The driveshaft on the highpower unit is carbon fiber, though I had not heard about any snapping. Was this a Ford mechanic that told you this perhaps? ;)
