The RX-8 role in the movie is not much different than the RX-8 commercial. They sit in the car, drive it from one place to another and this is it. Probably less than 60 seconds.

View Full Version : Saw the new X-men movie last night MX-Man 05-01-2003, 04:08 AM The RX-8 role in the movie is not much different than the RX-8 commercial. I hoping the release of the RX-8 (production version rather than the X-men car) commercial will be shown before the movie. evel333 05-01-2003, 09:53 AM So where is this whole "Wolverine wants it..." thing they've been playing up? I thought it would be some minor side-plot. Any special features or weapons on the X-Men RX-8? WEAPON X 05-01-2003, 10:01 AM One of the cars I was considering was the cadillac Cts and it has a major scene in Matrix reloaded. I guess no Hot highspeed chase in X2. MX-Man 05-01-2003, 01:42 PM The only special feature of the car is some kind of cell phone that comes out of the dash, hidden behind the CD player. And Wolverine starts it with his claws as he doesn't have the keys :-) There is nothing more than you can see in the RX-8 commercial. Lensman 05-01-2003, 01:58 PM The makers of the movie needed a semi-futuristic fast looking four seater with little public exposure because four characters had to make an escape. The RX-8 was their sensible choice. It's not a major part of the movie just an expensive minor prop. Probably made the producers money, not cost them money. Puppy1 05-01-2003, 10:03 PM Originally posted by DonG35Miata Expensive prop? I am sure Mazda PAID them to use it! It cost a lot to get your product featured/used in a "tent-pole" (blockbuster) movie. said7 05-02-2003, 07:36 AM Aside from the car how was the movie? Lensman 05-02-2003, 12:57 PM Originally posted by DonG35Miata Expensive prop? I am sure Mazda PAID them to use it! Probably made the producers money, not cost them money. I meant the prop was expensive not that it was expensive to the movie makers although I can see why you picked up on it. MX-Man 05-02-2003, 03:34 PM The movie is great. I'm waiting for the X3 :-) Alejandro8587 05-02-2003, 10:34 PM not to spoil it for anyone but while they were talking in the car, was that the real noise of the car in the background? It sounded like a high pitched car or the barry white of motorcycle engines. DonG35Miata 05-03-2003, 12:25 AM The movie was great- much better than the first one. There were a lot of short cameos by X-men characters from the comics of years past. You could recognize them by their powers. The mutant power I would like to have is the one that "remote boy" had. He could change channels on the TV by blinking his eyes. I imagine he could make the VCR fast-forward by closing his left eye, and rewind it by closing his right eye. You've got no imagination :) I'd want to be Professor X because I could make some other idiot get up and change the channel for me :D ELX13 05-03-2003, 01:30 AM just got back from X2...GREAT FLICK. and the new MATRIX TRAILER beforehand... oh my god. >get back on topic mike< ditto on what everyone said...we get a few glimpses of our ride on the big screen and that's about it. looks great though. (although i'm glad the ugly "X" spoiler isn't stock on the prod. 8 ;)) P00Man 05-04-2003, 07:30 PM matrix: reloaded...cant wait.............................................. .....so disgusting, so many problems, my god lold, cant wait for it, so wrong, blahAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa ________ Iolite Directions (http://vaporizer.org) cagefreak 05-05-2003, 08:22 AM Liked the movie in general, LOVED the matrix reloaded preview. In fact I remember a lot of people cheering for the preview than the actual beginning of the movie. The 8's role was pretty interesting, PSYCHE! I just like the way it sounded, which was probably some crazy sound they just got from somewhere else. heh. JTek_55 05-05-2003, 10:32 AM Cagefreak, can I ask why you cancelled your RX-8 order? |
