The RX-8 role in the movie is not much different than the RX-8 commercial. They sit in the car, drive it from one place to another and this is it. Probably less than 60 seconds.

Was there any preview commercials? I hoping the release of the RX-8 (production version rather than the X-men car) commercial will be shown before the movie.

So where is this whole "Wolverine wants it..." thing they've been playing up? I thought it would be some minor side-plot.

Any special features or weapons on the X-Men RX-8?

One of the cars I was considering was the cadillac Cts and it has a major scene in Matrix reloaded. I guess no Hot highspeed chase in X2.

The only special feature of the car is some kind of cell phone that comes out of the dash, hidden behind the CD player.

And Wolverine starts it with his claws as he doesn't have the keys :-)

The makers of the movie needed a semi-futuristic fast looking four seater with little public exposure because four characters had to make an escape. The RX-8 was their sensible choice. It's not a major part of the movie just an expensive minor prop.

Expensive prop? I am sure Mazda PAID them to use it! Probably made the producers money, not cost them money.

I do accounting for movies. Product placement is HUGE. It cost a lot to get your product featured/used in a "tent-pole" (blockbuster) movie.

I meant the prop was expensive not that it was expensive to the movie makers although I can see why you picked up on it.

The movie is great. I'm waiting for the X3 :-)

not to spoil it for anyone but while they were talking in the car, was that the real noise of the car in the background? It sounded like a high pitched car or the barry white of motorcycle engines.

The movie was great- much better than the first one. There were a lot of short cameos by X-men characters from the comics of years past. You could recognize them by their powers.

The mutant power I would like to have is the one that "remote boy" had. He could change channels on the TV by blinking his eyes. I imagine he could make the VCR fast-forward by closing his left eye, and rewind it by closing his right eye.

ditto on what everyone said...we get a few glimpses of our ride on the big screen and that's about it. looks great though. (although i'm glad the ugly "X" spoiler isn't stock on the prod. 8 ;))

Liked the movie in general, LOVED the matrix reloaded preview. In fact I remember a lot of people cheering for the preview than the actual beginning of the movie.

The 8's role was pretty interesting, PSYCHE! I just like the way it sounded, which was probably some crazy sound they just got from somewhere else. heh.

Cagefreak, can I ask why you cancelled your RX-8 order?
