OK,

So, I was wondering what the spread is between people of technical background vs. non-technical. There was a thread a while back discussing vocations, but it would be cool to see it summarized.

P.S. - Ignore the typo in the poll. I meant "explain", but I can't edit it now.

What kind of technical background? You mean automotive?

Just don't take this poll too seriously, as most people think they are better than they actually are. It's kind of like taking such a poll asking people if they think they are good at sex ;).

anyhoo, i'm pretty good, but obviously not some kind of genius (technically, not sexually :p).

Anyways, back on topic... technical at what?

Just generally technical vs. non-technical. Could be anything. I figure that if you are good at understanding how things work, it goes across the board pretty easily.

Is this a school project or are you just curious? :)

I don't know about being good in one area makes you good in others. Amongst my engineering colleagues I am reputed to "be able to see stress failures" but I cannot design a linkage assembly (convertible top) worth a damn. I also suck when it comes to using computers but I can design a simple IC.
