What do you think the chances of getting an RX-8 June 1 2004?

Would I have to order now??

At the time I asked, a few months ago. People seemed to think there would be no problems.

But from what I have read on here, it seems as though pre-orders are being shipped, July 03 , september 03 and january 03.

That only leaves 6 months for "in-stock" cars to come in. Seems lke it is cutting it close!!!!

I can't wait past june 01, because I'm leasing and my lease is up then!

I don't want to settle! I want an RX-8 June 1st 2004.

What do you guys think? Maybe if I'm not too picky about color I would have a better chance, but I want a GT version in Canada (the higher end one).

I hope there are a few around, but if the car gets really popular, there are TONS of people around with $40k cdn. It isn't really a high priced commodity as BMW's and Audi's sell like hot cakes around here.

You can probably order January or February of NEXT year and get it by June.

I you really want an RX-8 and can't get one by June 1 (looks impossible) then rent a car for a few months until you can get one. Hell, you can even buy a beater car for $800 and drive it until you can get the RX-8 and then sell the beater for $750.

I would guess that you could easily get an automatic somewhere in Canada when they become available, quite possibly this summer. All you can really do is get out there and try to get what you want. Talk to a dealer and put down some money.

Who said anything about an automatic? :) I want the 6spd with moonroof (although I'll forgo if I have to) xenon headlamp traction etc. I guess all options expect Nav and Automatic. :D

I'm not sure how it is in the US, but in Canada you can get a 350Z anyday if you wish. I don't remember how long they have been out though. But they are pretty easy to get.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure when the 2005 RX-8 are going to come out, (given the fact the 2004 are coming out this Summer , maybe August-September 2004 ?) But renting a car for a couple of months and then ordering a 2005 maybe your best choice.

Why 2005 ? My guess is that they will have all the minor 1st year bugs resolved by then in the 2005 model.
