As topic, is the RX-8 yellow the same as the Mazda 6 yellow?

I've been eyeing Titanium with tan interior but after spending some time around the yellow Mazda 6 with black leather it is growing on me.

My g/f wants the Yellow 6, maybe we can comprimise with a yellow 8! :)

According to the Mazda Canada web site the yellow used on the Mazda 6 is called Canary Yellow and the yellow used on the RX-8 is called Vivid Yellow. If my memory serves me correctly the Vivid Yellow is slightly lighter and it may have a little more metallic in the paint. The colours are not too far apart.

i really wanted the yellow at first, and then i really liked the titanium and was basically sold... now, after seeing some yellow 6s, more s2000, and a modena, i want the yellow again!!! it is gunna look sweet!

The reason I believe that the yellow is not as popular as some of the other colours (like titanium) is because we saw nothing but pictures of the yellow prototype for about a year and everyone got tied of it. Most people in this forum have never seen the yellow in person and I when they do they will be amazed how good the rx-8 looks in yellow. I promise you that there will be a few people in here wishing they got the yellow once they see it in the flesh. I've said this many times here; pictures just do not do it justice!

Besides, I am happy that yellow is not that popular a colour because it will just make it a little more special. :D

same here.. if i see other rx-8s on the road, i want mine to be of different color... WAR YELLOW RX-8s...

I saw and posted pics of yellow 8 at Irvine Ca.
The color is definately not the same as the Mazda 6.
Yellow is lighter and more mellow. Looks very close to Mitsubishi
Evo. I originally wanted the yellow but whimped out and changed to blue. The yellow RX8 looks awesome in person. I have seen red, blue, titanium, and yellow and the yellow looks best.

The yellow 6 we got here is pretty dull, more like mustard.

I hope the 8 yellow is no way near it. The yellow should be brighter like the sunburst yellow on the MX-5. And if it comes line with the red interior, it would be a killer combinations!

Yes but most of us live in the US. :) so it is the rx-8 yellow the same as the rx-7 (fd-3s) yellow?
