Just wanted to say hi, and complement the site, lots of interesting information. Needless to say I'm a Mazda6 fan, but I can't help wanting a RX8 as well. Like another fellow board member, I was at the Houston RevItUp event this past weekend, had a chance to crawl around both 8's that were there, thankfully I fit in both quite well. I love the shifter feel, the fact that the engine is so small it kinda hides down there is pretty cool too. The most amzing thing about this car is that its almost practicle (insert snide comment here :)) ..seriously though, my 6 is really a four seater, not like you can really fit a normal person in that middle part. I'm just waiting for some feedback on its everyday drivability, who knows in a year I might trade up :) One question, how effeicent is the rotary engine verses a piston in getting power to the wheels? Does it have the usual 15% loss? You guys that are sitting around waiting for this car, man do I envy you.

brillo,
Welcome to the board! Just like you are envious of those who ordered their RX-8, we are equally envious of those in Japan that have taken delivery of theirs.

I personally am planning for the everyday driveability to be there:cool:

The 6's at the event had some stiff ass suspension. I think Eibach hooked them up.

I don't think have a rotary engine effects the loss of power going to the wheels. It is what puts the power to the wheels that effects that (trany, etc.).
