View Full Version : Reason not to buy Pepsi products.
mpt_yellowRX8 10-12-2004, 03:39 PM Receieved this in an email from a friend. Some will say boycotts don't work but people will still do it and I support it. I personally don't buy it in the first place.
Here is the email:
Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can
coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the
Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the
pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone.
In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate
office, either.
So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended
when they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust"
on it.
Edit: This is not meant to start any religious war either so please be respectful in that case. We already know we have differences of opinion on this board. I posted this because I found it true and interesting.
Also, this made it all the way to the second page and someone had to dig it back up today!
ZoomZoomH 10-12-2004, 03:40 PM *takes a sip from my bottle of Diet Pepsi*

m'eh i dont read the can anyway, as far as im concerned if its caramel colored fizzy and sweet it must be coca cola...looks like i already boycott pepsi hahah.
BlueEyes 10-12-2004, 03:48 PM They are just being PC. Isn't that what everyone wants
Oh no wait, only a few people want that, but they whine enough to ruin it for the rest of us!! :p
MadRonin 10-12-2004, 03:49 PM I normally drink Diet Rite. Looks like I'm switching to Pepsi, baby! :p
VelociRedBeast 10-12-2004, 03:59 PM I might buy even MORE pepsi now..
therm8 10-12-2004, 04:01 PM heck I'll boycott them just for having no guts. This "under God" thing is completely ridiculous. All the problems in this country, and people pick this to complain about.......
VelociRedBeast 10-12-2004, 04:01 PM My reason for ^^ is not that I'm Athiest or anything, but when "Under God" was written in the Pledge they didn't have MY god in mind which means when I recite it I would be claiming I am under some other god other than mine..
Battousai 10-12-2004, 04:02 PM Ok before everyone gets into a nice little flame war.. this is a hoax
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/drpepper.asp
remember Snopes is your friend :)
rotten42 10-12-2004, 04:03 PM The only reason not to buy Pepsi is that it isn't Coke Classic!
SantozRx8 10-12-2004, 04:03 PM hell yeah i second that therm8
mpt_yellowRX8 10-12-2004, 04:04 PM Good! I knew someone would find out if it was true or not. Flame war ended!
Mugatu 10-12-2004, 04:05 PM good thing I'm athiest.
Pepsi, here I come.
markd 10-12-2004, 04:06 PM BlueEyes: LOVE the avatar
ZoomZoomH 10-12-2004, 04:09 PM i finished my diet pepsi....
Tayninh 10-12-2004, 04:24 PM Pepsi is fine and so is Coke. Depends on what Soda, Pop you like then.
mpt_yellowRX8 10-12-2004, 04:25 PM I am on a diet so I try to stay away from both but I have to have a Barq's every now and then. Coke second. That C2 stuff isn't great either.
What's Soda and Pop? Down here it's all coke until you explain what you want.
Example:
Me: "Hey! Whatcha want to drink?"
Wife: "Coke."
Me: "What kind."
Wife: "Sprite will be fine."
It seems wierd until you are around it every day. I never realized until I was about 12 that Coke didn't make everything.
neit_jnf 10-12-2004, 05:26 PM http://www.popvssoda.com/
rotary_it_up 10-12-2004, 05:29 PM Damn, I love Pepsi.....
canaryrx8 10-12-2004, 05:40 PM two words that scare me about pepsi= Michael Jackson, I'm a Dr. Pepper fan myself anyhow :)
Brian1f 10-12-2004, 07:40 PM Pepsi would never do something so crazy...
Ellar 10-12-2004, 08:00 PM Rule of thumb: if it comes FORWARDED by e-mail (ie. it wasn't your friend writing it, and it wasn't written to you specifically), delete it.
Twinturbo2800 10-12-2004, 08:08 PM this thread is Retarded ! go play with your bible !!
If an atheist cares about "under god" they have some serious stick up their ass. Who cares religious or not just drink the damn stuff if you like it.
Ellar 10-12-2004, 08:10 PM ...see why we delete these things...?
Razpewton 10-12-2004, 08:22 PM Okay, I'm confused. I like Pepsi, I'll continue to drink Pepsi.....so this means I'm voting for who again? :(
jtimbck2 10-12-2004, 08:33 PM This thread is a discussion about something that has already been proven a HOAX! Geeze, people, drop it.
lafrad 10-12-2004, 10:44 PM its a good thing I just dont care.
Under god, not under god, its PEPSI for christs sake!
mpt_yellowRX8 10-12-2004, 11:04 PM I wanted to delete it after I put it up but I then said, what the heck let's see if people can stay away from the religious aspects and look at it as a whole. 6 posts up showed he has no couth, but everyone else has been pretty cool about it. It was sent directly to me by a friend who had his information on it. He was just jokin' me it seems, no big deal! I got taken by a buddy, oh well.
Outlaws eXtreme 10-12-2004, 11:35 PM I'd still drink Pepsi... no biggy. Tastes better than Coke anyhows.
I prefer the taste of Coke anyway.
8is>enuff 10-13-2004, 03:09 PM Okay, I'm confused. I like Pepsi, I'll continue to drink Pepsi.....so this means I'm voting for who again? :(
It means you're voting against God.
Tayninh 10-13-2004, 03:11 PM Drink all the Pepsi and Coke you want. No one cares and you paid for it. End of discussion. Who gets to stop this thread?
Speed-ER doc 10-13-2004, 03:11 PM Pepsi stinks. Really.
If you ever take the Pepsi challenge, just smell the two drinks.
The one that stinks is Pepsi. You don't even have to taste it.
Its funny, its the same people on here who "don't care" that would care if it were to say something (in an ugly fashion) about the rx8 or such. Point is, he was just making a statement, and everyone's giving him grief about it. Comon people, let's refrain from the rude remarks. You don't care? Great, you don't care. Its not real anyway, so shall we discontinue the rudeness already?
Btw, pepsi rules over coke. Neener. :p
ZoomZoomH 10-13-2004, 03:35 PM i'm drinking yet another bottle of Diet Pepsi again...
sea-rx8 10-13-2004, 03:42 PM mmmmmm....beer
ooops....wrong thread
canaryrx8 10-13-2004, 03:45 PM still rather be a pepper :D
zoom44 10-13-2004, 05:00 PM *finishes his second coke of the day*
so the number one reason to not drink pepsi then would be because its a tool of the anti-christ!!! pepsi is evil people!!!
oh wait we were supposed to stay away fromt eh religous part...... ok ..... um..... let's see... no cant say that... umm.. OH YEAH THATS RIGHT
PEPSI SUCKS- COKE ROCKS!! end of story:)
PEPSI SUCKS- COKE ROCKS!! end of story:)

zoom44 10-13-2004, 08:36 PM and to think i once considered stealing from guy to be my minion!! i can see now that it never would have worked!!
