I got sprite on my keyboard. I wiped it off, but I know there is lots inbetween the buttons, what is the best way to get rid of it all. I don't want my keys sticking tomorrow.

Thanks MadRonin!

You will need a spray can cleaner specific for keyboards like from OfficeMax. Perhaps a damp papertowel will do to get the pop off or diluted in the meantime.

Your gonna have suger under the keys now. The only way to get rid of it is to take apart the keyboard and wash it. Frankly, I'd just go buy a new cheap KB and be done with it. Your gonna spend under 20 bucks and not have to mess with it for a couple hours.

thats not the best way.

Take the keyboard apart, pull all the buttons off, and soak em in warm water with a few drops of bleach. Dry em, and replace. Voila, good as new.

Or you can just take it into the shower, wash the keyboard and dry it out and youll be fine.

I've had this problem before. Using rubber gloves, gently lift the largest masses off and place in the toilet. Then, using a hairdryer, dry the remaining..............wait.............that's poop, not pop............nevermind. :D :D

Yeah I used the word "soda" too. Raised on the East Coast. Then visited West Virgina and asked for a soda and they pointed me to the baking soda on the shelf. Dumb Duh!!!!!!!!!

Its pop or soda depending where you live I guess

Most of PA says "soda" including Philly. However Pittsburg and the surrounding area says "pop." Go figure.

From Baltimore but live in Colorado. Ppl ask me where I am from cause they know I am not from around here and they can't figure. Ppl in Boston talk ah different while those from the South yet more different and then they use Soda and Pop too. LOL

Ok..
Let me say i have the best technique for keyboard cleaning:
1, take the circuit board out of the keyboard (plastic or whatnot, but do it carefully)
2, put the plastic button part in the dishwasher and set it to rinse and dry and run it (no soap)
3, clean the contact pads on the keyboard with a non amonia based cleanser like rubbing alcohol
4, dry everything and reassemble

Another way to do this, assuming you have a day or so of dry time..., after disconnecting it from the computer (crucial step), run it through the shower. I'm not kidding, it works. I had a buddy in IT at my last command. If someone had a problem with somethinng spilled in the keyboard, they would swap it with a new one, then put the old one in a shower. Actually tried it myself once (had a spare in case it didn't work).

You just have to make sure you get all the water out..., otherwise it's fried. I actually blow dried mine so no water would be on the circuts for an extended period of time. Good luck.

If you do decide to clean your keyboard, DO NOT use bleach. It will corrode the contacts leaving you with nothing more than a big plastic poundy thing. :p

I've found that the best way to clean a keyboard is to either use a pressure washer (make sure you get REAL close to the keys) or try hydrofluoric acid. I guarantee if you try the above methods you will have no more keyboard...

....problems. :D

Thanks MadRonin!

Hope your keyboard wasn't on your laptop....
I spilled coffee on my laptop and it was never quite the same...
Perhaps I'll put it in the dishwasher with bleach...

What kind of laptop? I just replaced a Dell laptop keyboard that someone spilled soda on. I bought the replacement off of ebay for $20. Five screws later it was good as new.

I up in grew up in Massachusetts calling it soda....

My Texan step-sister called everything "Coke"....
She'd say:
Q: "want a coke...?"
A: "sure..!"
Q: "what kind?"
S: "we have orange and Pepsi...."

Go figure!

Is that Sprite on your keyboard or are you just happy to.... oh, nevermind!

Seeing as how this has already been hijacked into the "pop" vs. "soda" thread... :)
