Ok. So I've been slacking here. So hello 8 owners. I didn't see anything specific to this here, so I thought I'd post this so all the Chicago area owners were aware. Most of this was just cut and pasted for simplicity.

By popular demand (among 7 owners), here's the date for the final Chicago get together for '04.

Reason I picked this date? The weekend prior I have my 10 year high school reunion and the weekend after I'm probably going to the Bonzai BBQ. Unless you all want to meet without me...I'll understand. http://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif (ingrates) Just kidding. http://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Any later and it will be too cold I think. Plus I want to get a jump on winter changes.

This will be at Gameworks at around 2 PM. We can eat there and chill a bit. Wait for traffic to die down and have a PLANNED in ADVANCE cruise. With the help of a few others, we'll get a good route together.

So, let's do this one more time. We can do some initial brainstorming for next year. I don't know how many got the email I sent from the RC3 distribution list, but things are starting to move in the right direction.
In reference to the RC3 thing, I will hopefully be setting up something soon for new registrants. http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/chicago_rx7/ This is the current incarnation of RC3. It will be drastically updated. With my job and other things taking presidence, I'm looking to have a launch before spring.

If you've wandered to the 7 forum and have voted already, please don't vote here.

Hope to see you all there.

We were discussing this in another thread. I'd be interested in going, I just need to be sure I'm going to be in town. I'd say 50/50 at this point.

Might make it, depending on kid's soccer games, etc. I am actually participating in a Mercedes Benz ride and drive event at Arlington Park at 4:30 that afternoon. so if I can skate out eariler, I'll be there.

We left to go get a bite to eat for a little while but then we returned. We were on Level 4 (?) of the parking garage on the south side.
Not only were there the three 8's, but about 10 third gen 7's and a couple of corvettes showed also.

Adam if you only got there sooner you could have joined us for the cruise. Or maybe if you kept looking longer, you would have spotted us when we came back to gameworks at the end of the cruise, lol. Hope to see everyone turn out next year! And if you are looking to race I have 2 words for you. Gingerman Raceway.

Looks like it was a good time. And someone has a really nice CYM R1, I see. I'm pretty pissed with myself, as I was simply too hungover to drive out there. And since I wasn't completely sure where it was, I didn't want to have to hunt around for it.

Always next spring...

Yeah- that yellow was awesome... I couldn't stop staring at it. Someday I must have one of those :D
If Mazda had used that on the RX8 I would have bought that instead.

There were less than 250-300 CYM's brought to the US. Very hard to get a hold of, if you find one, I suggest grabbing it while you have a chance.

Man, that is rare. A guy I worked with in Florida had one that was mint... and this was only the second one I've seen in person.

I think everyone that has one now also knows just what they have. Also, the paint was allegedly very toxic, so possibly that means the repainting may not return it too the original color, though I'm not completely sure about that. So they all could possibly be on their original paint.

Yeah. That CYM has got a great body, just needs a motor (apex seals gone). Hopefully he'll do that over the winter and get it ready for next year. I think he lost it racing a viper. Can't remember.

Well, we are trying to round up a few people to go on a late night cruise this Sat (looks like the weather will be great). It would be fun to have a couple 8's tag along!! Details have not been decided yet. Will post more later.
