Just saw the first printed ad for the RX-8 in the latest Sport Compact Car magazine. Just open the cover. It's on the back of the cover and the first page! Can't wait to see what their TV adds look like here in the US. Let the advertising begin!

Sorry for the slightly blury text, I had to do some editing and some low resolution scans to get the file down right at or just below the 100K forum limit. Maybe that should be changed to 150K? :)

Is the engine in that picture to scale with the RX-8? If so, then ... wow! I knew rotaries were small, but that engine is miniscule relative to the car. And it still gets 247 bhp! :)

You appreciate it more when you look under the hood; you can see how far back they placed it by taking a look at where the oil filter is!

I did a search and didn't notice anything else mentioning this, so here goes...

Hey, I have a subscription to WIRED magazine and to my surprize when I opened it up a couple of days ago ... there it was ... on a black page a RX-8 tach with the headline:

"The Rotary engin spins at 9,000 rpm.."

Then when you flip it open, it reveals the RX-8 (the standard Red RX-8 beauty shot 3/4 view on a wet black and dark blue blacktop) and the headline continues with:

"Your head slightly less."

... Hey has anyone else, seen this around any other Magazines?

FYI, there's a new ad in the latest Sport Compact car. Although it's not for Mazda but for http://www.rayswheels.co.jp And also it's the MazdaSpeed RX-8(?) with a set of wheels from that company.

RotaryNews got a sneek peak at the Mazda USA TV commercials that should start to air in a month or so. They will be featuring a series of 3 - 15 second spots on prime time. They were all pretty good, but some will be dissapointed that they still include the Zoom-Zoom..

One of the commercials is called the : HUG (IIRC)

It depicts a guy in his garage, contemplating his new VR RX-8 with both its side doors opened. He then moves closer to the car and leans his head on the roof almost kissing the roof, the camera then zooms from behind him as the RX-8 closes it's doors slowly as if it's hugging him. Quick cut to the front of the garage, where the door is open, and his wife is standing there with that look on her face... as asking what is this guy doing humping this car!!! zoom... zoom....

It's pretty funny!

Hey Bern, any word if Mazda is going to post the RX-8 commercials like Mazda Japan does? Or maybe you could pass the word on that we would enjoy being able to watch them on the mazda web site.
