Just curious to see if there are any boxing fans on this forum. If so, anyone catch the Mayora/Trinidad fight this past weekend?

I used to be an avid Boxing fan until my idol Julio Caesar Chavez (104W 5L 2D 0NC 85KO)retired. I still read the Ring magazine to keep up with the rankings.

I am a pretty big fan. Although, I did not catch the fight this weekend. The only bar near my apartment that shows boxing decided to charge 10 dollars cover to get in cause of the fight. They have illegal satellite there, so it pissed me off a lot when they asked for the 10 bucks seeing as how they don't have to buy the program. Then the hostess laughed at my counter offer, that pissed me off even more. There were 8 of us, so we could have bought the fight on PPV and a case of beer and chilled at my apartment.

was it a good fight?

I don't watch boxing on T.V but I box and watch it in person. Does that count?

It was a decent fight but Mayorga messed up letting Trinidad hit him twice to show he could take a punch he just stuck his chin out and said hit me and Trinidad did and that was the beginning of the end. STUPID Move!

Mayorga is a clown. I hate boxers like Mayorga and Prince Naseem Hamed who just make a mockery of the sport. Like Terrel Owens is in the NFL. These guys have no class at all. You never seen Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, or Walter Payton act a fool after scoring a touchdown.

Thats what happens when you give stupid people a lot of money, they begin to think they deserve it. Then they get all cocky about it. Pisses me off too. Although, at least Owens is one of the best if not the best reciver in the NFL today, not like mayorga who is an average fighter (I say fighter, because he can't 'box' for shit)

Yea, Mayorga is definitely a very ordinary fighter who just got famous off beating the man that beat the man that beat the man. hehe I didnt see the fight either but from what everyone is telling me it was a fight of the year type fight. I hadnt missed a Trinidad PayPerView in 5 years and it sucked that I couldnt watch this one.

I love to watch boxing. I am a fan of the sport but not of the fighters per se. I do watch the fights on ESPN sometimes.

i can tell you guys from my personal experience, i went to the madison square garden to watch the fight live, i was sitting right behind mayorga's corner and all you heard was his coatch telling him, you getting kill, " in spanish", ans him saying i'm tired.....

it was a hell of a fight, i never went to a boxing match before, but i tell you it's a good experience, i am dominican, but that night, i think i became puerto rican, for so many times i scream, " PUERTO RICO".....

and when fat joe performed lean back... it was the sh*t....

he put on a good show.

lots of celebrities, IE. mike tyson, r jhones jr, bernart hookings, roselin sanchez, mark anthony, just to mention a few...... btu it was very good, and mayorga receive a beating, right after he wanna show up, that he can take tito's punches on the face......
