Yes I really do slide a 240, I do it in San DIego. It's nice here. I'm considering buying an RX-8 so I thought I should join so I can read your thoughts on the car as a group. If I do buy an RX-8 I will probably turn it in to something loud, and less comfortable than originally intended, I'm sorry, it's what I like to do. No crazy urethane wings or other crazy rice-king antics, just clean drift appeal.

Thanks All,

This Guy:D

LOL, Welcome slider! You'll need to disable traction control to drive an 8, of course.

Welcome slider! You'll need to disable traction control to drive an 8, of course

That is, to slide or drift you will need to push the disable button.

Welcome. That's another RX-8 in San Diego. If you see a Titanium driving around 805 or 5 that would be me.

Chinx,
I never thought of that, but it could be the 240z. It's just that when someone says "drift" I think of the 240sx, but you may be right. Yea, I am ready for the 8 to arrive here as well, the more and more I hear about it, the more I am inclined to put off the fd, and get an 8.:D

sup i slide. my brother has a 89 240sx with some suspension mods on it. he hasn't started drifting yet, but its a nice handling car.

Which one do you have (s13/s14/s14a) ?

Thanks to everyone for the hellos. Yes 240 means Nissan 240SX. Yes, I like to drift, in fact I just did a quick lap around my company parking lot this morning on the way in. It's great! I have a '96 w/ a '97 front end, and some other things (wink) done to it. If I do get an 8 I do plan on fiddling a little but it'll be too nice to go all out at first. But it will not remain stock for long.

Talk to You Later,
:D

Ar yes, the good old 240sx drift machines.

FYI: in Hong Kong there is a street name for the 180sx and 240sx. They are commonly called "The Flying Chicken" That's because so many young people got them for street racing and many of those kids just keep smashing them up while drifting them around during a race.

As you may or may not know the chasis code for the 240SX (Silvia, 180SX, One-via, Sil-eighty) is s-13, s-14b, s-14a, and s-15. S-14 b is '95 to '96 (b means before minor change, i think, and s-14 a is after minor change) S-14a is 97'-98 or 99. After that Nissan dicontinued U.S. production to make room for Stupid Utility Vehicles or whatever. And the S-15 model started in Japan only. Talk to you guys later.

Out!
