Here's the email I just got:
Dear Shayaan,
Thank you for again contacting Mazda North American Operations. I
appreciate the opportunity to respond to you.
We applaud your RX-8-community-minded efforts to share information with
other consumers. Your involvement with the RX-8 Forum is truly
endearing, and we understand that you may feel responsibility to
members of your club. Please understand that we're here to assist
customers on a one-on-one basis. We have found that each consumers's
individual needs tend to differ, as do their individual situations.
If you feel that you must relay information about your experience and
how it may assist others, I would suggest that you advise them to
contact their dealership first. Each dealership that has placed an
order may be able to change an allocation (as long as it was originally
placed for a specific customer) into a Pre-Order.
We're devoted to providing personal attention to each consumer. It is
for this reason that we might request information that is private and
may not be appropriate to share with another consumer, even if acting
on their behalf. However, if there is one universal piece of advice
that may be helpful to pass along to other customers with similar
concerns as yours, it would, again, be to keep in close contact with
their ordering dealership.
If you'd like to share something of your experience with the hope that
it will help other RX-8 Pre-Sell Program "orderers", please share them
that the absolute best thing that they can do is to contact their
dealership. Each dealership that has placed an order may be able to
change an allocation order and match it to a customer as a Pre-Sell
Program order. I hope that you understand that it is simply not
feasible for us at the corporate office to paint every order scenario
with the same broad brush, as there may be legitimate allocation orders
that are not assigned to customers at all.
Mr. Faruqi, as is the case here too, you'll want to remain in contact
with your dealership, as they are responsible for the submission of
their orders. Be assured, we have acted as a liaison on your behalf and
have contacted the dealership for you and requested that they change
the allocation order and assign your name to it as a Pre-Sell Program
order. Furthermore, we are looking into this specific matter with the
dealership's District Sales Manager to see if he can assist at all in
remedying this situation.
I understand that Jimmy Estevez, Sales Manager, at Open Road Mazda has
expressed his willingness to make the change to your order, and we're
working with him and his District Sales Manager to address your
specific concern. Jimmy would like to encourage you to contact him
directly with any further questions. He's definitely eager to assist
you and is certainly in a good position to do so.
All in all, we know that you're excited to get behind the wheel of the
all-new Mazda RX-8. We couldn't be happier about its arrival ourselves
We know you'll love it just as much as we do!
